JIN KISARAGI - SUMMARY

Drive attack: Frost Bite

Jin has the ability to freeze opponents, encasing them in ice to start and continue combos. As a trade off for some meter, he may refreeze opponents mid-combo for more damage. Most of Jin's drives have decent range and freeze an opponent for a small time. In Continuum Shift, all successful freezes have a set time frame and are unshakable.

JIN KISARAGI - SPECIAL MOVES

ICE BLADE (236A/B/C, or QCF+A/B/C, also works in mid-air)

Jin creates an ice blade and sends it at the opponent. Depending on which button you press (A, B, or C), the speed and recovery time of the attack change. When done in the air, depending on which button you press (A, B or C), the trajectory of the ice will change.

 

 

FLYING ICE STRIKE (236D, or QCF+D, also works in mid-air)

Jin throws forward a gigantic ice blade which can hit confirm up to three times. Similar to Hishouken. While its startup is slow, if it is on block, it removes one guard primer and is great for pressure. On hit, you can easily go into combos. In the air, three freezing ice blades are thrown out in different directions in front of you, making it a good defensive tactic as you float in place for a moment. Takes 25% of your meter.

 

 

BLIZZARD (623A/B, or DP+A/B)

Jin slashes extremely fast in an arc in front of him. This move is a great defensive and anti-air option. The A version is faster with no invincibility, while the B version is a little slower, with slight invincibility. Beware if they block it though, you will be in for damage!

 

 

VIOLENT ICE (623C, or DP+C)

Jin crouches down and slashes upwards in an EXTREMELY high arc. A VERY slow anti air that has invincibility from the start. On counter hit, you have the ability to start a combo. This move is also very risky on block and should be used carefully.

 

 

DUAL ICE STRIKE (623D, or DP+D)

Jin does a lightning quick slash, sending the enemy frozen in the air and follows up with a heavy blowback hit. Having full invincibility at the start of the move, and being so quick, it's a great option for a reversal. You can also hold down the D button to delay the second hit, and held all the way, can be unblockable. Takes 25% of your meter.

 

 

CRYSTAL STRIKE (214A/B/C, also works in mid-air)

Jin speeds toward the opponent on his famed "Ice Car", following up with a downward slash. Different variants of ice car (A, B, or C) on the ground have different speeds, distance, and even height. A version does not have a follow up. Commonly done to end combo's in the air.

 

 

Freezing Crystal Strike (214D, also works in mid-air)

An upgraded version of Crystal Strike, he hurdles toward the opponent at a much faster rate than Crystal Strike, freezing the opponent on the first hit and knocking them back on the second. Commonly found in corner combo's where the knock back will keep them close for you to continue comboing for massive damage. Takes 25% of your meter.

 

 

SNOW FLOWER STORM (Hit C repeatedly)

Jin slashes quickly in succession. The 8th hit can send the opponent into the air, and is possible to combo off of this hit. But if you hit C too many times, Jin will continue to slash afterwards and the opponent can easily tech out. The timing is learned through practice.

 

 

DISTORTION DRIVES

ICE FANG (632146C, or HCB,F+C)

Jin sweeps a gust of ice across the stage at a high speed. The projectile hits the entire stage, and its also very high, so it's very difficult to completely avoid. While it doesn't do much damage, it is fast, and on counter hit you can continue certain combo's.

 

 

Moonsong (632146D, or HCB,F+D)

Jin sends "Arrows of Ice" in a diagonal direction in a multi-hit super. Commonly used at the end of combos. As a super by itself, it does great damage. Unfortunately, on block it does not multi-hit, and the opponent can then easily come back and punish you.

 

 

Judgement Snowstorm (236236D, or QCFx2+D)

New to Continuum Shift, Jin guards himself in an aura, and puts himself in catch state. From startup to finish the move itself is entirely invincible. If an opponent hits you with a physical attack during this state (Except for sweeping lows), they freeze in place, and Jin retaliates in a sweeping slash across the stage for massive damage. He will also do the same for any projectile attacks that hit, but the opponent will not freeze, and must jump, or do an attack with invincibility frames themselves because the sweeping slash is unblockable. Similar to Hakumen's "Yukikaze".

 

 

ASTRAL HEAT

ARCTIC DUNGEON ([2]8D, or Charge D,U+D)

Jin stabs his sword into the ground encasing the entire floor in ice. The move is unblockable and is invincible from the start. Best comboed into via throw.
