« street fighter iv master guide mini preview »

A couple clicks from playasia and 17 days later it has finally arrived, our very own Street Fighter IV Master Guide! Be on the lookout for a more in depth look at what hidden gems the guide has to offer. But for now be content with a small preview.
With 168 pages of SF4 goodness, even the most casual player can get something out of this book if not for pretty pictures then for the Frame Data that will take away alot of the guess work in trying to figure out what works in a match.
The book is broken down into 4 chapters Character, Action, System, & Tactics. Take a look for yourself in what there is to offer.
The Character section is 1 page dedicated to each fighter detailing their background, fighting style, and profile. It also shows the colors for each character's costume.
The Action chapter of each character is 3 pages showing the basic animation of each fighter's moveset.
The System chapter details the mechanics of the game. It shows everything from how to hold the joystick to the workings of the Focus Attack.
The Tactics section goes over things such as what pokes to use and combos to annihilate your opponent with. This is probably the part where you wish you knew how to read Japanese (like me :P).
Of course what is tactics without knowing Frame Data. This is single handedly the most useful information provided in the book because it takes out the guess work in trying to figure out what is safe for you to attack with and what you can punish or be punished from.
Overall the Street Fighter IV Master Guide is very useful in just knowing what moves look like, basic combo structure, and frame data. These are things you don't really need to understand Japanese to figure out on your own.
Highly recommended if you are currently playing in the arcade or want to get a feel for the game without having to search all over the internet.
