« SHO-SHO-SHO-SHO! SAKURA REVEALED FOR STREET FIGHTER IV CONSOLE RELEASE »
Excellent find by "The Shift" on SRK. This a Famitsu scan showing Sakura in SFIV. After looking at the can you will see, much like all the other characters in SFIV, most of her staple moves are there: Fireball, Hurricane Kick, Standing Roundhouse, etc.
It also appears she has her own stage. At first it kind of looked like an old Rivals School stage but I think its actually under or near a bridge. One complaint I have with SFIV is the stages, most of them look very uninspired, but it's not really a big deal.
So it begins. As TGS 2008 cranks up I'm sure we'll see a lot more of SFIV's new cast including Fei-Long, Cammy and Dan! Sakura is a real suprise though. I did not think there would be any additonal characters outside of the ones I mentioned for the console release.

My god, Capcom, stop with the shotos.
They need Makoto or a Makoto clone (Makoto's Dad maybe?)
makoto makoto makoto..
Ibuki should be cool in this game. Cant wait to see how she turns out.
Makoto would be nice. Just someone to change up the play style more. Someone said that Abel is kind of Makoto-like. Is that true?
He has a lot of mix ups at his disposal with his change of direction move and he has that command grab that is pretty good. At the same time he isnt a stun monster and nothing he has does insane damage like some of Makoto's set ups. But yeah, at the end of the day he has a lot of options and will put you in a guessing situation more often than not.
"...and nothing he has does insane damage like some of Makoto's set ups..."
I beg to differ. Abel has some very, very technical and difficult to pull off power combos, especially with meter... but they are there nonetheless.
Back on topic... I see why Capcom has chosen Sakura to be included on console. She's a very nostalgic character to the street fighter series, and she doesn't completely play like your standard shoto. Not to mention a lot of fans have been asking for her inclusion... well here she is!
Yeah I think she is a good addition. Reading some forums right now, I dont know how people can complain about how she looks. She will have an alternate costume for sure and I wouldn't be surprised if there were many offers for DLC once the game comes out to change her appearance.
Good point about Abel's combos, let me rephrase that: As far as I know he doesnt have any combos/set ups like Makoto that can dizzy the opponent in a matter of seconds. Also, Makoto has some set ups that do 100% damage on some characters, I dont think he has anything like that.
I think his general gameplay approach is similar though, yeah. A lot of videos I've seen where he gets on a roll, there are like 3-4 mix ups within 5-10 seconds.
