« Kratos from God of War to Appear in Mortal Kombat 9 as a Playstation 3 Exclusive Character »

An idea that was originally brought up in a panel at E3 to Ed Boon, and one that many thought would be cool but unlikely, is now a reality: Kratos from God of War will be a playable character in Mortal Kombat 9. Keep in mind this is a Playstation 3 exclusive character, and will only be available in versus mode, not in story mode.

Stickskills, which originally broke this news just now, is reporting that he will have his own set of Fatalities, combos and even his own God of War themed stage. This information was taken from the January issue of the issue of the Official Playstation Magazine, so once it hits news stands we'll probably find out more details about the character.

This to me bring up more questions about the game than anything else though. With this news one would assume they are also planning X360 exclusive characters as I can't imagine Microsoft being left out of something like this. Also, what about tournaments? Is this going to simply be a gimmick character since he is console exclusive?
