When Mortal Kombat was first announced, many of us in the community had no idea what to expect from the game. The series hasn't exactly had the best track record since some of the older game were released, so it's to be expected that many people would be a little hesitant about a new game. 

As more media trickled through it helped ease our worries, but there was still no way to know how the game would end up playing. Even with the demo that was released many players were on the fence about the game considering there were still many changes to be made and there weren't enough characters on the roster to really make an informed decision about the game.
