Team Ninja will soon be releasing a free edition of the upcoming Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate on PlayStation 3 all over the world.
Titled Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters, this freemium edition will feature characters from the universe's ninja clans, Ryu Hayabusa, Hayate, Ayane and Kasumi, will be playable from the get go where additional characters are priced at $3.99. While story mode is a seperate $14.99 purchase, the characters will be playable in the other modes immediately including in netplay, in which both retail owners and Core Fighters owners can play together.
Core Fighters will be available in Japan (Sep. 5), North America (Sep. 3) and Europe (Sep. 9) for the PlayStation 3 and there is a chance for a "possible Xbox 360 version" down the line.
