« Indie Fighter Nidhogg Planned For Late 2013 Release With Online Multiplayer & More Features »
If you were at EVO and visited the Indie Games area on Saturday, you might have seen a pixel-heavy fencing game called Nidhogg.
Created by independent game developer Mark "Messhof" Essen, he told Gamasutra contributor Michael Molinari that Nidhogg is "slated to be released later this year, with hopes to be available through Steam." Included in the final release will be more stages, a single player mode and an online multiplayer with "the details of which are still being worked out."
Nidhogg combines aspects comparable in fighting game strategies as well as a tug of war-style race to the finish all dressed in minimalist pixel graphics. For a video of an older build of Nidhogg, courtesy of Khaos Gaming, check it out after the jump!
