« More details released on Pokkén Tournament Championship Series »
Several months after first being announced, the Pokkén Tournament Championship Series now has qualifying rules, events and prizes online for those interested in trying to make it to the world championships.
The PTCS will first be divided into two age brackets, with players born before 2001 being placed in the Masters Division while those born after will be a part of the Senior Division. The two divisions will also have a different number of players at the world championships, with 64 players competing in Masters while 16 vie for the title in Senior.
Both divisions will compete in major and minor PTCS events, with travel to the championships being awarded along with prize money—all of top eight will pay out—to the highest one or two placers depending on the tournament designation. Some players will also qualify by earning Championship Points through tournament placing.
