SFIII: 3rd Strike Universal Overhead (UOH) Tutorial by C-Royd

As Ono slowly drip feeds glimpses of 3rd Strike Online Edition (3SOE), it is worthwhile to remember that 3rd Strike is an old game and inevitably - hopefully, even - there will be an influx of new or migrating players when it finally lands who won't be familiar to the vageries the game throws up.

So it's appropriate then that another big 3rd Strike fan named C-Royd's already got their back with a new tutorial video looking at 3rd Strike's Universal Overhead (UOH).

STREET FIGHTER III: THIRD STRIKE - DANISEN LEAGUE

SFIII: 3rd Strike Videos - TheShend YouTube Channel

Since the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition has been revealed I thought it high time I made this post I'd been meaning to make for months.

At the very end of last year an Arcade called Game Spot Versus (once Game Inn Sakura) in Tokyo started a 'Danisen League' or better put a 'Dan Ranking League'. Since then it's popularity has exploded and spread to include several more top flight arcades:

  • Game Spot Verus (Tokyo)
  • GAME41 (Sapporo)
  • POPY (Niigata)
  • Game Box Q2 (Nagoya)
  • Gamespace Vegas (Osaka)
  • Subculture (Fukuoka)
  • Amusement Sendai (Hokkaido)
  • ゲームインナハⅡ (Okinawa)

Even Denjin Arcade has begun it's own Danisen League.

Why the popularity? Well, it's a much more fun and entertaining set-up than straight tournaments or ranking battles, both for players and especially spectators. It's similar to the Virtua Fighter ranking system if anyone's familiar with it but here's how it works.

UK'S SUPER VS BATTLE 20-X DATES & LINE UP ANNOUNCED

NeoEmpire have announced details of their biggest fighting game event in the year: Super vs Battle 20-X.

It will take place over 3 days; Friday 20th August through to Sunday 22nd August, and in the same venue from last year, namely Byron Hall which is part of Harrow Leisure Centre in Harrow & Wealdstone, London.

The line-up of games that you can compete in are:

  • Guilty Gear XX Accent Core (PS2)
  • Soul Calibur 4 (PS3)
  • BlazBlue (PS3)
  • Tekken 6 (PS3)
  • King of Fighters XII (PS3)
  • Super Street Fighter IV (360)
  • Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (PS2)

Come April you will be able to register for entry and tournament sign-ups at discounted prices compared to walking in on the actual day.

I attended last year's event and can happily say it was very enjoyable affair with plenty of atmosphere and friendly people and I hope to repeat the trip and see how the NeoEmpire organisers have improved over SvB '09.

Visit www.supervsbattle.com/ for more information and media from last year's event or even their feedback thread.

Tougeki 2010 / Super Battle Opera 8 line-up released.

A scan appeared  from the next due issue of Arcadia magazine showing the game line-up for Tougeki.

That list in full:

[Category A]

● (3on3) Street Fighter Ⅳ [Capcom]
● (3on3) Tekken 6 Bloodline Rebellion [Bandai Namco Games]
● (2on2) BlaBlue Continuum Shift [Arc System Works]
● (2on2) Arcana Heart 3 [Examu]
● (1on1) The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match [SNK Playmore]
● (3on3) Virtua Fighter 5 R Ver.C [SEGA]

[Category B]

● (3on3) Guilty Gear XX ΛCore [Arc System Works]
● (3on3) Street Fighter Ⅲ 3rd Strike 'Fight for the Future' [Capcom]
● (1on1) Sengoku Basara X [Capcom]
● (3on3) Super Street Fighter Ⅱ X Grand Master Challenge [Capcom]

There is already some surprise expressed about the inclusion of Sengoku Basara X over either Tatsunoko vs Capcom or even Melty Blood? Whereas Street FIghter III: 3rd Strike continues to be present and has been since SBO began in 2003, the only title to do so.
