Offline Wednesday Night Fights Returns Oct. 21

After a long hiatus of purely online tournaments, Alex Valle has announced that Wednesday Night Fights will be returning to a brick and mortar location on Oct. 21.

The eSports Arena in Santa Ana, California, will play host to the event that Valle originally started in a garage in Orange County. The 15,000-square-foot venue provides a lot of potential room for the tournament series, as well as having a second floor allowing for more activities.

Valle has also said that while WNF is coming back, there will be no return of The Runback at this time. Check out Valle's walkthrough of eSports Arena after the jump.

SoCal Regionals 2015 Moves to Oct., Prelude Events Announced

After two months of venue-associated problems and delays, Level|Up has set the dates for SCR 2015: Oct. 9-11. This announcement comes after L|U's Alex Valle made attempts to salvage the original planned dates for the event, May 1-3, and then tried to move SCR to June 5-7.

Undeterred by the complications, Level|Up is moving forward now with the October dates in place and is also going to offer two new, one-day events called SCR: Prelude. The prelude events will host a smaller number of games and are designed to give the region more tournament experience in some of the biggest titles in the fighting game community. The first SCR: Prelude event will happen on June 6, with the second event scheduled tentatively for August.

Even with all these positive steps forward, Level|Up understands the monetary complications that may have arisen for players who had already bought plane tickets for the original May dates of SCR. To that end, Level|Up wants those who bought travel to email them at admin@levelup-series.com with documentation to possibly work out some kind of compensation for the inconvenience.

SoCal Regionals 2015 Delayed

After March 24's announcement that SoCal Regionals could be pushed back due to venue issues, that delay has become a reality.

In a post on the official SCR Facebook page, Level|Up said that due to a lack of suitable location SCR will not be able to go on as intended on May 1-3, 2015.  The new plan is to run the event on June 5-7.

While there is no venue yet in place for the June dates, Level Up said it has an upcoming meeting with a potential venue and will keep competitors informed on any developments.

Level|Up's previously planned location for the event was ruled out due to construction issues.
