Gamespot.com posted a hands on preview for Gouken a little earlier this week. They mainly go into his move set but not too much on the strategy front. They mention he will be a fan favorite because of his move set but it has yet to be seen if he will be even allowed to be played in tournaments. One thing they do not mention is he can perform his Ultra off of a back throw which does not mean he will be banned but as far as I know, no other character in the game has that ability. Most characters have to juggle their opponent to connect with an Ultra.

From our short play time with Gouken, we're willing to predict that he'll quickly become a fan fave thanks to his strong offensive skills (particularly the ability to send angled hadokens, which makes him a tough opponent to approach via the air). Keep it tuned to GameSpot for more information on new characters and modes soon.

After my play test with him, I feel they have this backwards in that I think his strength is actually in being a defensive character (angled fireballs, high and low counters, fireball counter).
