« Super Street Fighter 4 "Tournament Mode" DLC to have tournament Brackets, says Capcom's Seth Killian. More info coming soon. »
Seth Killian has made a post on the Capcom Unity forums stating that Super Street Fighter 4's "Tournament Mode" DLC will have actual tournament brackets.
This is a step up from Street Fighter 4's "Championship Mode" where you advance like you would in a single elimination tournament, but you do not get to see the bracket you are advancing through (and thus the other potential opponents you may face), losing some of the tournament feel.
Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix has a tournament mode with actual brackets, which was a great part of that game.
It would be great if you could invite friends to a player-match online tourney or to just play with a bunch of random players. It would also be great if they could allow you to jump into another match to spectate while you are waiting for yours to begin.
Seth also mentioned that more information on the "Tournament Mode" DLC will be coming very soon, in about two weeks. Here's what he posted on Capcom Unity:
"Brackets [will] be a part of the Tournament Mode DLC that's coming to SSFIV after launch (it's free!). We should have a flood of new info about the Tournament Mode coming in ~2 weeks, so rather than tease with some vagueness, I'll just say "stay tuned" and give you the full story then.
