Street Fighter X Tekken: Release of 12 DLC Characters Moved Up to July 31st Along with Balance Patch. Details.

Capcom has announced that the 12 new DLC characters for Street Fighter X Tekken which were originally planned to be released later this year (around the time of the Vita version hitting shelves) will be released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions on July 31st.  The date was moved forward so that the release would coincide with a balance patch that will also arrive on that day.

In case you forgot, the characters are Blanka, Cody, Dudley, Elena, Guy and Sakura from Capcom and Bryan Fury, Jack, Alisa, Lars, Lei and Christie from Tekken.  The price is still the previously announced 1600MSP/$20.00.  If you planned on buying the game on both PS3 and PS Vita you can get a really good deal.  If you buy the PS Vita version on October 2nd (which includes all DLC characters) you can also download them for free for the PS3 version.

Here are a few of the changes you can expect on the balance patch.  These were revealed at a panel during EVO 2012:

Street Fighter X Tekken: PS Vita Version Content and Pre-Order Bonus

The good news: the Playstation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will be a monster of a deal compared to its console counterparts when it is released later this year.  The bad news: we have a while to wait before it releases.
First of all, the content.  In case you didn't already know, here's a short rundown.  The Vita version will include a free download for all 12 of the new characters which are paid DLC in the console versions.  This version will also allow you to download the DLC alternate costumes from the console version for the core 38 characters for free!  Go ahead and calculate how much that would cost you in the console version. We'll wait.  It's a great deal.
In addition, as a bonus for pre-ordering with Amazon, Best Buy or Gamestop you get to download the alternate costumes for the 12 new characters as well!  See below for a graphic which gives you a look at the costumes.
And if you get the Vita version, you can get the DLC for the 12 new characters for free on the Playstation 3 version.  This assumes you also have the PS3 version and had the willpower to wait to get the DLC, but if you happen to be in that situation you are really coming out ahead.
The release date is late this year.  Amazon originally listed it as October 2nd but now it says December 31st.  So check out the preorder costumes below and get ready to rumble on the Vita in the coming months.

Capcom VS SNK 2: The Garage Warrior Part 4 by Maximilian

Unfortunately, many players out there don't get to experience one of the best aspects of fighting games.  It's getting together with a group of friends around the same screen to just battle it out, whether this is at an organized event or in someone's living room.

Maximilian is back with another episode of Capcom vs SNK 2: The Garage Warrior, where they do just that.  This game is also hella fun to watch.

Excellent Asian Adventures Episode 9 - Counter Cotton Pickers

Cross Counter Asia's Zhi and Xian are back with another episode of Excellent Asian Adventures, where they troll Ranked Match in Super SF4: AE for our amusement.  But this time it looks like they are the ones getting trolled.  Beware of jackho556699, apparently.  Oh, and if this episode is meant to be an ad for the Madcatz V.S. Fightstick it didn't work out too well!

Persona 4 Arena and Dead or Alive 5 Video Interviews by Machinima from E3 2012

For Persona 4 Arena, Machinima interviews Aram Jabbari, PR and Sales Manager.  Topics include how did they come up with the idea to take Persona, an RPG, and make it into a fighting game?  Do they feel like it will hit EVO-level in the FGC?  What gameplay mechanics make Persona 4 Arena unique?  What's really nice is that the game will use the Arc System Works BlazBlue online code, so you know it will be good!

Yosuke Hayashi of Team Ninja about Dead or Alive 5 was also interviewed.  Why such a long wait between Dead or Alive 4 and 5? What kind of new gameplay elements can we expect in the new game? How will the game reach beyond hardcore players to be easier for new players to pick up?  Also, why the focus on breasts?  All these and more are answered in the vids below!

Skull Girls Fillia Combo Movie: "Lost Memories" By Abelcru

You know what to expect here.  This video, put together by Albelcru and uploaded by jourdal, features a bunch of pretty sick looking combos featuring Fillia from Skullgirls.  You may want to turn down the volume a bit when you start it because the music track that accompanies the video is pretty loud but it's another great showcase of Skullgirls combo madness.

Soul Calibur 5: The Online Warrior Episode 13 'Quitting With Rage'

This episode of Soul Calibur V: The Online Warrior was fun to watch.  Maximilian runs into some opponents who gave him a real challenge and also encountered a ragequitter.  It's too bad that with fighting games hitting the popularity level that some games still suffer with this issue, especially one as great as SCV.  Is ragequitting still a widespread issue among all fighting games or does it happen more frequently in some games than others?

Anyway, this is another great episode so check it out if you are a fan of SCV.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Designed with EVO in Mind & Dev Team has Tournament Players, Says Ed Boon

I don't think that many will argue that the tournament scene, and how big that audience is getting thanks to social media and live streaming, has a tremendous impact on the success of a modern fighting game.  So it's little surprise when NetherRealm Studios, the developer behind the recently announced 3D fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, publicly states that the game is being developed with features aimed at EVO.  NRS' Ed Boon has said so in a recent preview with Kotaku.   In addition, Ed says that there tournament players that are on the development team as well.

Mortal Kombat, despite having some problems early on with online play and DLC costumes, turned out amazingly well and these kinds of statements bode well for this new game.  Check out the quote below or head to Kotaku for their preview.

Street Fighter X Tekken The Online Warrior: Episode 11 'DEATH OF A FIGHTER'

This episode of SFxT The Online Warrior is a good one.  The most interesting topic discussed is the current community health of the game and its future prospects. If you haven't been keeping up lately, Maximilian gives a rundown of some of the recent developments that have impacted the game (Rolento bug), future fix and balance patches, and so forth.  He also touches on what he expects/hopes from Capcom for the near term, including upcoming DLC packs (man they are going CRAZY with DLC with this game).  All the while you watch some great SFxT online ranked match action.  It's good stuff as always.
