Tekken 7 update brings fixes to Marduk, Law

A new patch rolled out for Tekken 7 on Dec. 12, bringing changes to Law and Marduk.

For Law, the previous 2.10 update had given Law the ability to combo off Dragon Tail into backflip, and that has been removed. Meanwhile, Marduk's ability to use his Rage Drive in combos has been nerfed as the mount will no longer work, as MarkMan says, "at off angles."

These are the only listed changes for the patch, and it is unknown if any other features were affected by the update.

Tekken 7 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

If you are wanting to see who else is coming to Tekken 7's season two, the full list is here!

The third, fourth and fifth DLC characters, announced at Tekken World Tour 2018 finals, are all focused on the legacy side of things. Craig Marduk and Armor King return, with a good amount of their moves remaining from their previous appearance in Tekken Tag Tournament 2, along with some new attacks catering to the screw system. Both will be playable for all season two pass owners and as separate downloads on Dec. 3, 2018. Their character trailers can be found after the jump, with a small tease of Julia Chang on Armor King's video!

Announced back in Evolution 2018, The Walking Dead's Negan also gets his gameplay premiere. You can get Tekken 7 season two pass now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC!

IGN Korea interviews Nin & owner of Green Arcade about history, custom parts & closure

IGNThe well-known Korean arcade dedicated to Tekken might be closed, but its legacy remains.

IGN Korea writer Lee Dong-hun recently interviewed Nin and then-owner Yoon Kyung-sik about the end of Green Game Land arcade. Both Nin and Yoon talked about how the arcade ran before its untimely closure, its 21-year existence, its hospitality to visiting players and the future for the owner.

One of the most popular things about Green Arcade was their highly coveted custom lever. Commonly referred to as the Green Lever, Yoon goes into detail about the development of what he felt was the ideal lever. This also expands to the notion of work on a custom pushbutton.

The four page piece, which includes pictures of the now-closed arcade, can be found here. There is currently no English translation of the article.

South Korea's Green Arcade closes its doors

Core-A GamingOne of the top arcades for Tekken in South Korea is no more.

Green Game Land, known to many players simply as Green Arcade, has shuttered after several factors converged, causing the owner (known as "mom" to the patrons) to call it quits.

According to a post on the Tekken Reddit, the arcade's building was scheduled to be remodeled and thus the arcade would be closed for a time. Combined with the decreasing income due to the console and PC versions of Tekken 7 being more current than the arcade version, and the owner's advancing age, the decision was made to close the business for good.

Both Nin and Knee posted goodbyes to the arcade, with Knee saying that Korean arcades are ending.

For players outside South Korea, Green Arcade was a legendary location, where many of the best Tekken players regularly played and the level of competition was at its apex. The arcade even hosted the many trophies won by its players at events all around the world.

From this point on, however, the name Green Tekken will simply live on in Nin's social media handles.

Tekken 7 receives version 2.01 patch to fix various move bugs

Bandai Namco Entertainment shipped out a patch to the recently updated Tekken 7 alleviating some issues that were of concern.

For PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, patch version 2.01 fixed move bugs from a variety of characters since the release of version 2.00 and the Season 2 content update last week. Users on PS4 and PC can update their game now while XB1 users will have to wait until Sept. 12, 2018.

One of the adjustments include fixing Bryan's taunt tracking, previously unable to hit those who quick roll left of him. Another change is Lars' f+2,1 to Silent Entry, 1 string losing its natural combo property, which originally gave him extremely high combo damage potential especially at walls.

Some of these fixes were from player reports using the Twitter hashtag #tekken7_season2_report with those from the Tekken Project team monitoring the feedback.

You can check out the patch notes officially provided by Tekken Project lead Katsuhiro Harada here.

Season 2 balances changes for Tekken 7 released

The gameplay changes coming to Tekken 7 when its second season of content launches on Sept. 6 are now live in both Japanese and English

There are changes for every character in the game, and the lists range from only a few attacks being affected to large swaths of a fighter's move set being altered.

Currently, both websites are down due to the influx of visitors trying to see what changed for their character, and The Hadou has stated that the U.S. site will likely be hard to use until the morning. Fortunately, Flying Wonkey and KodeeVu have compiled notes on several characters and are sharing information other players screencapped before the sites went down. And for those who can read Japanese, IPLAYWINNER's ThePhantomnaut has uploaded the Japanese PDF to Google Drive for viewing.

Tekken 7 Season 2 begins on Sept. 6, 2018, with the release of the balances changes, Lei Wulong and Anna Williams.

Bandai Namco updating Tekken 7 with Season 2 DLC, adds new gameplay, Anna Williams, Lei Wulong and Negan from The Walking Dead

While it seems that rumors of a second season of downloadable content for Tekken 7 were true, Bandai Namco still managed to throw players a curve ball with the announcement.

After Tekken 7's finals during Evo 2018, the company revealed that the game will be getting a second season of content along with a game-system overhaul that will include new Rage Drives and wall bounce moves. There will also be six new characters, including returning fighters Anna Williams and Lei Wulong.

However, the most surprising announcement was that a third new fighter will be the villain Negan from The Walking Dead. A maniac with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, Negan seems an odd choice and it will be interesting to see how Bandai Namco fits him into the world of Tekken.

The identities of the other three characters, or other details on Season 2 or its Season Pass, are not available at this time. Readers can check out the first Season 2 trailer after the jump.

UYU adds Suiken as player manager

UYU has welcomed another Tekken player to its ranks with the signing of Michael "Suiken" Khieu as the team's player manager.

Khieu is a veteran of the Southern California Tekken scene, with strong placings across multiple iterations of the series. A longtime player of Lei Wulong, Khieu was forced to switch characters in Tekken 7 when his favorite was omitted. Even so, he made top 8 at Evolution 2017 and has continued to play multiple characters as he searches for a proper replacement.

According to UYU, Khieu will "be working closely with our FGC pro players to provide an extra level of support, mentoring and guidance through the upcoming season and beyond."

"I'm truly grateful for this opportunity," Khieu responded on Twitter, "it's always been a dream of mine!"
