Files relating to possible DLC found in Tekken 7

Modders working with the PC version of Tekken 7 have found files that may reveal some of the game's upcoming downloadable content.

According to Avoiding the Puddle, sounds files for Tekken Bowl have been found along with other files that seem to indicate swimsuit, Idolmaster and school uniform costumes will be coming to the game. Furthermore, there are also files pertaining to T7's guest characters, but not much is able to be gleaned from them other than the fact that the first guest character has assets that indicate both ground and air projectiles along with the ability to use meter.

It is important to note, however, that these files guarantee nothing, as games often release with files relating to incomplete or scrapped ideas. On the other hand, readers can feel free to speculate on the content coming in the game's first two DLC packs during the summer and winter of 2017.

Digital Foundry checks out graphical power of Tekken 7 & its predecessors

The go-to people for graphics analysis at Digital Foundry got the chance to show off how each version of Tekken 7 is running and made a visual retrospective of the series.

DF's Thomas Morgan explains in detail how the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro and PC differ. This includes variances in resolution, post-processing effects and load times. A full text analysis, with screenshot comparisons, can be found here.

Dave Bierton talks about the evolution of the series and the hardware that powers each game. While Tekken has been a multiplatform series in recent entries, it has been one of the franchises that grew alongside Sony's PlayStation line of consoles before that shift. This growth starts all the way back at the original Tekken for the first PS system and the similar Namco System 11 arcade hardware.

Videos for the Tekken 7 graphical analysis and the series/tech evolution can be found after the jump!

Bronson Tran shares his thoughts on new characters to Tekken 7

A new video from Yahoo Esports offers a look at how one veteran player ranks all the brand-new additions to the character roster in Tekken 7.

Northern California's Bronson Tran is a player who is never short on words or opinions, even going to far as to commentate some of his own matches during the Tekken 7 tournament at NorCal Regionals 2017.

In 13 minutes of footage from Yahoo, Bronson gives very short and concise opinions about most of the new characters coming to Tekken 7, pointing out their various faults or deficiencies. While he seems to not think many of them are very strong, he finds one or two worth suggesting to players looking for a new challenger in the Bandai Namco title.

Readers can check out the video after the jump.

Eliza steps out of the darkness with gameplay on "Tekken Talk"

A recent Bandai Namco stream delivered more information about the female vampire who will serve as Tekken 7's preorder bonus character.

Mark "MarkMan" Julio and Maximilian joined Bandai Namco's Dalton Link to explore the character in depth during "Tekken Talk" and revealed that Eliza will have a super meter much like Akuma in T7.

Eliza will build this meter either through certain throws, which show the vampire biting foes, or by going into her sleep stance. While in sleep stance, Eliza slowly gains meter but can do nothing else and has some recovery before being able to act again. She can use her meter to create enhanced versions of some of her moves, create a super fireball or cancel some moves to continue pressure.

The stream also showed off more of the upcoming game's modes, including Story Mode, Jukebox, Gallery and Treasure Battle. Readers can check out the Twitch archive after the jump, with Eliza's gameplay coming between 16 and 32 minutes in the broadcast.

Tekken 7 DLC plans promise two guest characters by mid-2018

The preorder information for Tekken 7 has shown up on the Japanese PlayStation Network, and Bandai Namco's plans for the game include two fighters from outside the world of Tekken.

Flying Wonkey has translated the information for the game's season pass offering, which details three different DLC packs for the game.

The first, coming in summer 2017, will feature a new game mode and more than 50 costumes being added to the game. A second will arrive in winter 2017 with the first "guest" character, along with a stage and costumes for that character. The third DLC pack will arrive in early 2018 and offer a second guest fighter along with stage and costumes.

Bandai Namco has added guest characters to its fighting games before—Gon appeared in the console version of Tekken 3, and the SoulCalibur series has had many cameos—but it remains to be seen how outside characters will be integrated into the Tekken 7 experience.

Tekken 7 will not feature online matchmaking across platforms

Bandai Namco's upcoming fighter will not allow players to challenge each other online from different platforms, according to recent online exchanges.

In tweets from both BN's official Australian account and Katsuhiro Harada the developer has said Tekken 7 will not have a cross-platform play. Harada offered that it was security policies of each company hampering the possibility, adding "Don't ask me. ASK [sic] 1st party."

While the news will not likely be a surprise to many, as cross-play is still rarely implemented for online matchmaking across games, it will surely be at least a slight disappointment.
