New Final Round XV Official Trailer Brings the Hype!

Final Round XV is just around the corner, and this new trailer gives you a glimpse of the kind of hype you can expect!  Within you will find out which titles are part of the official tournament, some of the cash bonuses being offered on those games and some of the special events they have going on.  Final Round pegs out the excitement meter every year, and this year will be no different!

New Soul Calibur V Trailer via GameTrailers Features Live Actors and Lots of Gameplay

Soul Calibur V is almost here, and with its release date of January 31 drawing near we have been graced with another trailer.  This one, which comes to us via GameTrailers, is actually really good in my opinion.  

It leads off with a live action sequence where people apparently shed their regular clothes and get into cosplay outfits of their favorite characters in preparation for the battle to come.  A lot of gameplay footage follows showing off the game's characters and graphics with appropriate flare.  Check it out!

Avoiding The Puddle Brings Classic ATP Podcast Segments to Youtube

As someone who listens to podcasts on a daily basis, I know firsthand that one of the few drawbacks of the format is that it is easy for exceptionally entertaining and/or informative segments to be buried and forgotten.  It is a hassle to find and re-listen to such segments, especially as the podcast gets older and your memory on how to find it fades, and new listeners might not even know what they missed.

Trailer for iOS version of Soul Calibur brings you back to 1999 on your mobile device!

Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for the iOS version of Soul Calibur, which is coming next week on January 19th.  Even though this game is over ten years old, it was a technical marvel on release and it's still pretty amazing to me that the game will soon be (arguably) playable on a phone.  It is unclear how well it will actually run and play on these devices but from viewing the trailer it looks OK.  What do you think?  Thanks to GuardCancel for the vid!

New Japanese Soul Calibur 5 Trailer Features Cinematics and Story Mode

The release of Soul Calibur 5 is drawing near, with only a bit over two weeks to go.  To keep series fans' souls burning, a new Japanese trailer has been released for the game.  The trailer showcases the game's story mode and cinamatics.  Some of the voice over is in English, but the majority of it is in Japanese.  Even so, it is exciting to watch if you are a fan of these elements of the previous games.  As a fan myself, I can't wait to see where they take things.  The game releases in North America on January 31st!  Thanks to Soul CaliburTV for the video!

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: "Buff Good Characters?" A High-Damage Spencer Combo Video by PR Balrog

It is one of the game's surprises that some of the more powerful characters in Marvel vs Capcom 3 not only didn't get nerfed in Ultimate Marvel; they actually got buffed in ways.  Top player PR Balrog puts this on vivid display in this Spencer combo video.  Spencer was already a great character before, but witness the display of brutal damage found in these combos, and the game is still young.

Screenshots of Street Fighter X Tekken's Color Edit Mode

I am really loving the vibe this game is giving off so far.  It is just absolutely crazy.  The stages, color and art direction, the characters, and the zany alternate costumes are just off the charts.  It looks absurd in the best possible way!  So how do we take all this to the next level?  By adding a color edit!  Seeing the ridiculous color edit creations players come up with will be part of the draw for this game's online multiplayer in my opinion.

Why We Hate You Episode 10 "Two Wrongs, Don't make a Wright" by FingerCramp

This is the first episode of this show that I've seen due to a drastic change in my real life outside of IPW, and I was very pleasantly surprised with what I saw.  Fingercramp's Andre "Jago" Lambert, who has been very active with videos and tutorials, puts on a show which is entertaining to watch, has some humor, has a lot of great information, and (best of all) doesn't overstay it's welcome by becoming a bloated hour-long time investment to enjoy.  With my thoughts on the show out of the way, let's get on to what this episode offers.

In this episode Andre talks about Soul Calibur 5's latest character reveals, shares his opinion on Street Fighter X Tekken's alternate costumes, and provides some excellent answers to reader questions.  This episode also features two tutorials.  One of them is an excellent tutorial on doing the "Hundred Hands Slap" reliably on an arcade stick and the other is a preview of what looks to be an amazing guide to Phoenix Wright in UMvC3. Ultimate Assist Me Outtakes - Part 2

Maximilian's "Assist Me" series of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 tutorial videos is hilarious, but so far I've found each of the outtake videos to be even funnier.  There isn't much to describe here other than to say it's interesting and very humorous to watch this crazy cast of characters work hard to make it through their lines without laughing (I don't know how they do it) and to try alternate lines of dialogue.  This crew obviously has a great synergy.  If you need a laugh to start out your day, check this out.
