« SNK Denies Rumors, To "Continue Publishing For Many Years To Come" »
News hit the web a couple of days ago that SNK Playmore's Masaaki Kuniko had left the company, and with the news came a report by Dream Cancel that the new president intended to shut down the video game division to focus on porting older titles. This obviously painted a grim picture for the prospect of King of Fighters XIII seeing a console release, but it looks like there might not be reason to worry.
GameSpot contacted a representative of SNK Playmore to address the rumors surrounding the future of SNK Playmore's video game development, and the representative had this to say: "In response to Internet rumors from earlier this week, SNK is planning to release a full slate of games in 2011 and expects to continue publishing games worldwide for many years to come."
It may not be direct confirmation that King of Fighters XIII is on the way soon, but it at least gives hope that we'll see it eventually. That's something, right?
