Microsoft revealed new info on what is to come for Killer Instinct with Spinal inbound!
MS's brief play session talked about what will be to come for the game. For the online aspect of the game, a lobby system will be arriving this January in which one room can hold up to eight players. The game will also introduce something to combat players who disconnect during a match. As for streamlining invites through the party system, there are plans to make it user friendly.

Coming in January is Spinal. While the session didn't feature any gameplay footage of him, you can find screenshots in the link above showing off the upcoming free character. Owners of the Ultra Edition of Killer Instinct will receive early access to Spinal.
Also announced during the stream, Shadow Jago is receiving his own moveset and the playable character in the free version of KI will rotate every week.
