Killer Instinct's version 3.7 detailed, Shin Hisako coming March 21

During Killer Instinct World Cup, Iron Galaxy made a presentation to the crowd with announcements about an upcoming patch to KI and fully revealed Shin Hisako's gameplay.

First off, KI version 3.7 will launch on March 14, 2017, and the patch notes can be found at Ultra Combo. The patch includes many bugfixes for Kilgore and the rest of the cast, along with several nerfs to Jago including increased recovery on windkicks and reduced damage on endokuken.

The presentation's main focus, however, was to reveal the gameplay of Shin Hisako. Promised as a "more straightforward" version of Hisako, the character still has plenty of depth and tricks for players to explore. Shin Hisako has great walk speed, a dash that teleports her forward and slightly up in the air, a dragon punch and a move that resembles Vergil's rapid slash from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Her big feature is her new spirit orb, which places a glowing object on the screen that can be struck to create a projectile. Shin Hisako's moves will also home into the orb, allowing her to close distance or create mixup opportunities. Lastly, her instinct summons a moving puddle that will grab opponents, dealing big damage.

Shin Hisako will be available March 21 at the latest and will cost players $4.99. Readers can also check out the KIWC archives revealing Shin Hisako after the jump.

"Kilgore" revealed as Killer Instinct version 3.6 prepares for release

The newest update to Killer Instinct arrives on Dec. 20, 2016, and with it comes a lot of changes and some brand new information for players.

For starters, a video from the KI team has revealed new characters are on the horizon. The character select screen now has three new slots, one of which will be filled by "Kilgore." Little is known about the combatant, but "Kilgore" is a robot that has gatling guns instead of hands and will be available in January 2017.

As for the patch, a big change comes to KI as breaking a combo now only restores 50 percent of your potential damage, as opposed to 100 percent, and potential damage regeneration begins after 3 seconds instead of 1. There are also gameplay changes to roughly half the cast.

For the full list of notes, head over to Ultra Combo. Players can check out the patch notes video after the jump.

Killer Instinct version 3.5 patch notes released

A new patch releases for Killer Instinct on Nov. 22, bringing with it changes to Shadow Lords, Shadow Skins and gameplay updates.

In terms of combat fixes, the KI team believes that it may finally have been able to remove left/right input issues that arose from characters getting crossed up. In addition, many characters had kara-cancel options removed and plenty of different moves across the cast now have counterhit windows.

On the character-specific front, Spinal has received a new shadow move to summon skulls and now receives more meter for use of searing skulls in an attempt to help his momentum. Omen, meanwhile, had his meter gain reduced and shdow slide is now punishable on block.

For the full list of changes and bug fixes, head over to Ultra Combo.
