During NetherRealm Studios' watchtower stream, the company revealed the gameplay trailer for the recently announced Firestorm and his skills bear more than a passing resemblance to another NRS character.

Put simply, Firestorm has many abilities cribbed from Mortal Kombat's Raiden, including teleport, torpedo attack and fireball. He also has extra special attacks including a low laser blast that can be meter-burned to freeze an opponent in place for a combo opportunity.

The gameplay trailer also shows off a new stage transition featuring a popular Batman villain. Readers can check out the footage below.
