Some new videos surfacing from TGS '08. These videos show some decent gameplay in areas and also a closer look at Iori.
Thanks to Kintaro on GAF for the find.
IORI & KYOCyberfanatix.com coming through once again with the fresh KOF updates!
This video surfaced recently on Gamevideos.com showcasing Raiden. The game in my opinion looks a bit slow, but so did Street Fighter IV until people started to understand the gameplay system, so we will have to wait and see.
I also included a picture of Iori that was posted on Famitsu's website.
I saw this on Mad Mans Cafe a little earlier today. I always wondered why they scrapped the location test earlier in this year and they have an answer for me:
You scheduled a location test in April, but it was canceled, and you stop communicating on the subject for a long time. Could you talk to us about this incident?
Y: We were looking at our rivals’games, as some of us wondered if we should release the game with even fewer characters. But we couldn’t make a KOF with less than 20 characters, so we decided to stop there and add some more. It was far too early to make a location test: the systems were rough, and we still had a lot of work to do. We couldn’t make a location test with such an early product, so we decided to just show our game so far at the AM show.
Our biggest concern was to add as many characters as possible.
This is probably the best video released yet. Shows some decent gameplay and some amazing shadowing on the stages.
To me it still looks like there is a lot of work to be done. Although it looks great there are still some inconsistencies with the animations. Also, around the 4 minute mark you will see Terry get crossed up some how and continue to do crouching kicks the opposite direction. Looks pretty glitchy.
This is a nice write up on King Of Fighters XII and what to expect. Sounds like the game has been just as hard, if not harder, to develop and animate as the previous games even though they are using a new rotoscoping technique for the visuals. The article also mentions the game is about 60% done. I'd say we're looking at late 2009 for a console release even though SNK mentioned it was closer to Q2 2009.
Pulled from the SRK KOFXII thread. Not much to say here, obviously the game looks amazing. The animations look silky smooth. Cant wait to see at least some intermediate game play though.

With TGS right around the corner, a list of games to be at the show has been released and this little gem was on there. No price or date set at this point.
The Tokyo Game Show 2008 game list is up and it’s leaking bits of information. One revelation is The King of Fighters ‘98 Ultimate Match will be released as a downloadable Xbox Live Arcade game sometime in the future. (See page seven.) SNK Playmore just packaged The King of Fighters ‘98 Ultimate Match as a retail PlayStation 2 game in Japan in June. We’re supposed to get sometime in 2009. This remake of the King of Fighters ‘98 has a healthy dose of extra characters and balance changes for top tier players.
No price or details have been announced, but it’s pretty much expected that the Xbox 360 release will be modified for online play. Oh, and we’re still waiting for the Xbox Live Arcade version of Samurai Shodown 2 too which is not listed to appear at SNK’s booth.
