« Capcom responds to Street Fighter V content criticism »
Yoshinori Ono has heard the complaints about Street Fighter V since its release.
In a recent interview, Ono admitted that "it's safe to say that we underestimated the popularity of some of the single-player features" that were missing when SFV launched and that Capcom is working to rectify those issues.
"The Capcom Pro Tour wasn't the only reason for why the game was released when it was," Ono said. "We understand that if we had more features ready at launch, it probably would've been better received by some of our more casual fans who tend to enjoy Street Fighter more via single-player content, as opposed to competitive play."
Ono pointed to Survival and Story modes, saying that Capcom has plans to expand those options for players demanding a more robust single player experience and that the company looks at SFV like "a marathon and not a sprint," with plans to work on the title for years to come.
