« Killer Instinct World Cup 2017 season announced »

The path to the Killer Instinct World Cup in 2017 has been unveiled, along with the rules that will govern its qualifying events.

In a post by KIWC head Brandon Alexander on Ultra Combo, the details of automatic qualification events were laid out as well as the ranking points that will accompany both online and offline events.

There are currently 12 offline events that will grant the winning player a spot at the KI World Cup, but more may be added in the future. The KI Pro League and 8 Bit Beatdown tournaments will cover the online portion of qualifying.

Alexander also addressed some rules for this year's event, saying that both Combo Assist Mode and Shadow Jago will be legal at qualifiers.
