Nothing new here gameplay wise, but some nice pictures at the bottom. Take a look.
Looks like CAPCOM's official Street Fighter website has a run down on the different gear and items available to purchase when the game drops. Run it through Google Translator and check it out!
I'll have to get that trucker hat to rotate weekly with my eventual purchase of a TRIMUVIR Shadowloo hat.
It turns out the joysticks featured on that page are the HORI sticks that are being made for the Japanese market. It looks like they were based on the Fighting Stick/DOA4 model, so they will probably be somewhat easy to mod with new parts if you were so inclined to import and do so.
Some new videos surfacing from TGS '08. These videos show some decent gameplay in areas and also a closer look at Iori.
Thanks to Kintaro on GAF for the find.
I saw this thread on SRK last night and was not 100% what was going on, but it appears people are kara-canceling the focus attack so they essentially blow right through a fireball or any other hit with out the start up frames of the focus attack. There has also been talk of kara-canceling a Focus Attack into an Ultra, so maybe they are related somehow.
EX FIREBALL = BBQ CHICKENWow, holy crap! Take a look at this custom Street Fighter IV booth. Looks like Capcom went all out for the game at TGS this year!
I think SEGA announced all their games at TGS so far and VF5:R was nowhere to be found. You have to wonder if this had anything to do with NAMCO's announcement of Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion showing up on PS3/360 Fall of '09. Perhaps they are waiting for the frenzy of SFIV and Tekken 6 to die down before announcing more about the game coming to consoles.
As far as I know, the show isn't over yet though, so there is still hope we will get some news on the game!
So if you're like me and you're really trying to up your game in SFIV to be competitive, I highly suggest listening to the newest Street Fighter Podcast with Justin Wong & Gootecks. This is probably one of the best resources at this point to learn about how to dominate in this game besides just going to the arcade and playing.
This is a short clip from TGS showcasing Sakura vs Abel in SFIV. Nothing earth shattering but check it out anyway!
TRIUMVIR is teaming up with Denjin Arcade to throw a SFIV and SFIII: 3rd Strike tournament this weekend. I attached the flyer of the event with all the details.
Those of you who want this game day-one (or day-seven depending on the shipping you select), you can now pre-order Tatsunoko vs. Capcom from play-asia.com.
SHO-SHO-SHO-SHO!A short write up from Gamespot.com on Street Fighter IV at TGS '08. They mention Sakura is quicker than some of the other characters but does less damage, which if true is probably a good thing considering how easy it appears for her to combo into Ultra. They also say the game is scheduled for Feburary 2009, so here's to hoping it comes out before March!
Nothing too new in the preview except it sounds like there is some hope for the game coming to NA and also to other consoles besides Wii. Check it out!
IORI & KYOCyberfanatix.com coming through once again with the fresh KOF updates!
This video surfaced recently on Gamevideos.com showcasing Raiden. The game in my opinion looks a bit slow, but so did Street Fighter IV until people started to understand the gameplay system, so we will have to wait and see.
I also included a picture of Iori that was posted on Famitsu's website.
My theory fighter in my previous post about Sakura was pretty close to the mark. The only thing is they made the juggle for her pretty easy, no FADC involved with the hurricane kick, just execute an EX hurricane and follow up with uppercut or Ultra. Looks like she will be a very good character, but I guess we will have to wait and see how good she is without EX meter.
TEKKEN 6So unless this was a major mistake by Gamespot, it looks like Tekken 6 is coming to XBOX360. A preview video of the game was shown on Gamespot.com that is now taken down, and at the end had the 360 logo. This may be one of the reasons Namco decided to (lazer) scrape the vanilla PS3 version.
It's confirmed. Here is the video:
In the Street Fighter IV Master Guide thread on SRK, details are emerging on the guide that will be released for the console version of SFIV. The poster DrDogg mentions that most if not all of the frame data in the Japanese Master Guide will be included. Also one thing I found funny is that there will be a section informing new players that online play does not matter! Hah!
On a side note, I'd like to add that the Brady Games Street Fighter Anniversary Guide is excellent. Even if you already know Super Turbo and Third Strike pretty well, it's still worth picking up. A lot of good information in there like frames of moves, best pokes and general strategy.
