VF5: FS Big Damage Wall Combos Video

There are a lot of things that separate high level and low-to-mid level Virtua Fighter players and one of those is knowing how to dish out big damage once the opponent is up against the wall. A new video popped up on VFDC recently that shows some really disgusting wall combos for all the characters. Check it out after the jump and remember Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown drops next week!

IPW VF5: FS Preview Stream Day Three feat. LA Akira, Shidosha & Sasuraiger

I ran another quick Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown stream today and this time around we got to check out how the lobby system works. While I was a little confused at first, we quickly figured out how to keep the rotation going. LA Akira and myself had some good fights against each other and we also had the chance to play versus Shidosha and Sasuraiger -- both who live in the East Coast. The connection was totally playable and about what you would expect from a game with solid netcode when playing cross-country.

Check out the archive of today's stream after the jump and be sure to tune in tomorrow for more VF action!

Fuudo's Entertaining Play Style May Change Your Perspective on Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown

You know, a lot of you out there probably think Virtua Fighter is this stuffy 3D game that you need to take a college course on just to begin play. The game is actually a lot more accessible and fun than you may think. On the other hand, I know many of you already know how much fun the game can be and don't need anymore convincing to pick it up.

Whichever side of the spectrum you're on, you've got to check out this clip featuring Fuudo vs Ryan Hart. I hate to put Ryan Hart on blast like this but this clip is just too good to pass up and is a great example of how creative you can get when playing Virtua Fighter.

Ryan, if you're reading this, don't feel bad. At least you didn't ring yourself out with no help from your opponent like I did in one of the STA VF5 tournaments!

VF5:FS: Arcade Item Win Pose Compilation Video

In the arcade version of Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, certain items for your character will affect their win pose at the end of the match. While it's unclear if this feature will be present in the console version of the game, LadyVF put together a compilation video that shows the various win poses for each character. You'll be surprised at the level of detail for some of these and just how ridiculous a few of them are as well.

Shoutouts to VirtuaFighter.com for the heads up on this one!

VF5:FS: Training Mode Preview from GameSpot

GameSpot's Maxwell McGee sat down with SEGA's Patrick Riley to take a look at the training and tutorial modes found in Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. You'll see that they teach players everything from the basics of 3D fighters to offering up a few universal combos for each character that will work on every weight class.

Another handy tool is a display that shows the frame advantage of incoming attacks. As many of you know, frame data is very crucial part of 3D fighters  so this will be very helpful for players who want to learn which moves they can punish and which moves they should try to block or evade.

Check out the full video after the jump and let us know what you think about this set of training mode features in the comments!

Sega Giving Away $15,000 In EVO For The Best Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Players

Confirmed by Joey Cuellar, Sega is going to EVO and will have Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown not only available for demo play but also for a tournament where the best players can win money totaling in $15,000.

As Cuellar suggested, go get a copy of Virtua Fighter 5 at your local game store and practice! Yes the console versions are different from Final Showdown including move changes and stat modifications but the game is universally similar.

For the best experience, I suggest picking up Virtua Fighter 5 Online (aka Ver. C) on Xbox 360 especially with the addition of online play. It's pretty cheap used and there is also a downloadable version through Xbox Live! The PlayStation 3 version only has Ver. B and no online support.

Tournament registration will handled by Sega. Details whether if it will be online or on-site haven't been revealed. You will need all the practice you can get as everyone around the world are converging in on EVO including Japan. Let's do this!
