FIGHT WITH PHOTOS: PHOTO FIGHTER X

Wow, this is really bizarre but pretty awesome at the same time. This is a downloadable DSi Ware game for the Nintendo DSi called "Fight with Photos: Photo Fighter X". It's exactly what it sounds like - you take photos of your self, punching, kicking and throwing fireballs and put yourself in a fighting game! It's 200 points and comes out today (in Japan)!

As you can see with the image above you can get real creative with this, assigning pretty much anything as a projectile.

Here is some more information on the game via Andria Sang:

Titled Fight With Photos: Photo Fighter X, this original fighting game has you use the DSi hardware to create fighters and stages. You use the camera to take pictures of yourself in various poses. You then record sounds and voices for your punches and special moves. After giving yourself a name and a type, which changes your fighting style, you're done creating your fighter. But you can still choose to create a background, also using the system's camera to take pictures of real life settings.

GETTING SALTY ON USTREAM

So I was on uStream last night testing some new equipment, and I go to my channel to get an idea of how it will look to a user and about two minutes into it - BAM - Morton's Salt baby! A huge pop up ad for Morton's Salt covers my screen and all I can do is laugh because I know they are showing this to me just based on all the times the word "salt", "salty" and "Morton's" comes up during each Street Fighter 4 stream.

Ahh, the power of targeted advertising. I'm sure some of you have seen this by now if you watch a lot of streams, but it is still funny to me none the less. If you haven't got a clue how internet advertising works these days, it's pretty simple: they try to target a demographic based on keywords and interests. A good effort here, but this comes off as more of a joke rather than a persuasive ad.

Also, if you are still in the dark as to what it means to "get salty", it's just being disgusted/bitter/mad/whatever after losing a match! You can usually see it on their face.

Street Fighter Poses in Real Life

Blog My Modern Metropolis has collected some very entertaining photos which have attempted to capture the spirit of classic Street Fighter moves in real life.

It is obvious that a lot of creativity (and a little help from Photoshop) went into these photos.

It really is quite amusing, so take a moment to check them out.

You can view the rest of the gallery (which is about 14 or so images in size) here. Enjoy!

BIZARRE FIGHTING GAME FINDS!

The internet is a strange, dark, damp world full of things that you wish you never saw and full of things you wish you never would forget.

I spend most of my time on the internet poking around on youtube, and every once in a while you'll come across something fighting game related that will leave you scratching your head in disbelieve and awe. This week I thought I would show you some of my favorites!

KSK and MOV fight a blind kid in Mortal Kombat on Japanese TV?

Can someone explain this to me? What I can take from just watching it is very limited. KSK and MOV (Two top Third Strike players) go on a Japanese gameshow to battle a blind kid from the US(?) in Mortal Kombat? I'm not exactly sure what to think of this but KSK looks really stressed out when hes playing the game.

A collection of Street Fighter II bugs from a Japanese DVD

What we got here is a collection of some of the strangest bugs from the Street Fighter II series. We've all seen Guile's "handcuffs" (the first bug in the video), but some of these I've never seen before such as the duo-Blanka bug and the bonus stage related bugs. Pretty insane stuff.

Mugen is pretty stupid.

t

Have you ever seen "Evil Dan" fight "Street Fighter the Movie" Guile and some weird Japanese character that spanks you with a spoon? Well, now you have. Also, why does this look like it's ripped from a casette tape?

The Ballad Of .......Guilty Gear?

This is another one that leaves me speechless. What looks/sounds like a normal Japanese ballad turns into a fight of Guilty Gear XX. On top of being bizarre on its own, it's littered with off-kelter soundbites from something completely different. After I watched this I locked myself in my room and called my mom. Help.

A collection of "lose faces" set to Russian music? Really?

I found this while poking around on youtube. The title explains it all really. Really? Really.

Check back next week for some more and always feel free to submit your own clip and I'll probably post it on here!
