On the heels of Frosty Faustings VII, SDR talked about the tournament that was, examining the characters in top 8 and talking about how FF was an important evolutionary step for the U.S. Xrd scene.

Faustings was also the fist non-Evo, out-of-state tournament for Sanchez, and he briefly explained his thoughts on the Midwest.

Later in the show, the cast went over the Evo 2015 game lineup, talking about the surprises of two Smash games and two airdash titles along with the complaints from those scenes left on the sidelines.

With the announcement of games for Evolution 2015 soon to come, SDR took most of the show talking about which games each cast member felt will make it to the big event in July.

First, however, Walkman lead a discussion about Smash 4 that branched into a conversation about patches, updates and how games are or should be balanced.

Lastly, SDR talked briefly about the upcoming NorCal Regionals 2015, and the accommodations available in Sacramento.

January means the start of a new season of fighting game major tournaments, and SDR talked about the upcoming Kumite in Tennessee, APEX and Frosty Faustings events that round out the month.

Talk then briefly switched to the recent controversy over Patreon before moving on to the upcoming Cooperation Cup tournament for Street Fighter III: Third Strike in Japan.

Later, the news that Tekken 7 is testing a method to allow both players to start on the first player side generated discussion and a bit of confusion, as did the roster of playable characters for the upcoming game.

The holiday episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

SDR closed out 2014 talking about the year that was with IPLAYWINNER boss and producer Chris Ceglia as a special guest.

The crew talked about the possibility of Aftershock 2, remembering the first event and centering the discussion on the recent NorCal versus SoCal arguments on Twitter about UNIEL.

The show switched gears as everyone talked about comeback mechanics and their place in games, and it eventually ran late as Ceglia answered a few listener questions including 'what makes for a good commentator?'

The holiday episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

This episode of SDR focused largely on the developing U.S. scene for Guilty Gear Xrd, talking about recent tournament results and what characters seem to be achieving the most success during the early weeks of tournament play.

The cast also discussed the recent patch to Xrd that has seemingly hampered online play, and compared it with the recent release of King of Fighters '98 UMFE on Steam.

Lastly, there was discussion about unblockables or "hard-to-blockables" and their place in games, which dovetailed into Ogawa's upcoming visit to Norwest Majors in April 2015.

Super Desperation Radio Episode 340 Archive Online

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

Just days after Capcom Cup, SDR had a lot to unpack from the event including the bracket mismatch—online and physical—that happened at the event. There was also talk about the trend toward a more eSports model for events like Capcom Cup, and how things like commentary, tournament format and even the playing of matches should be handled as Capcom looks toward Capcom Pro Tour 2015.

On the airdasher front, early streams of Guilty Gear Xrd DLC character Leo had popped up, and everyone weighed in on that character and the early days of the game in the U.S.

Lastly, SDR wouldn't stay the "leading Capcom podcast" without discussion about the early Street Fighter V footage shown at Capcom Cup, so the cast speculated on what everyone might be able to expect from SFV when it finally releases.

It was a busy week, and SDR started with the big news of Street Fighter V's announcement. There was some brief specualtion based on the short teaser trailer before the crew focused on the visual direction of the game and how more information may be available during Capcom Cup on Dec. 13.

The release of Guilty Gear Xrd in Japan dovetailed with talk of NEC, as everyone discussed their favorite moments from the tournament including an amazing Guilty Gear XX AC+R event.

Lastly, SDR talked about the poor reaction to Tekken 7's new character, Lucky Chloe.

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

With only a couple days before the Japanese Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- console release, SDR focused on the latest information for the game. This included a discussion of Sin and Elphelt, who were both added to 4Gamer's wiki of the title.

The wiki spawned another conversation, as Sanchez tried to answer why Google's automatic translation revealed the word "trombone" in the descriptions of many normal attacks throughout the guide. Thanks to the help of Ayaikun, the cast was mostly able to figure that out.

Meanwhile, with Northeast Championships coming on Dec. 5-7, SDR also talked about the number of entrants for UNIEL and why social media activity is not always indicative of a game's popularity.

The possible resurgence of older fighting games and a look at the recent 37Reloaded tournament were the main topics on this episode of SDR. The cast took turns talking about their experiences at or watching the tournament, and then conversation turned to how the momentum gained by 37 could be continued in the coming weeks and months.

Hellpockets also brought up entrant numbers for the upcoming Northeast Championships and how UNIEL currently has the second highest player count.

Finally, everyone was a bit concerned by Walkman's seeming obsession with Bette Midler.

Super Desperation Radio Episode 335 Archive Online

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

It was a wild and, at times, seemingly random episode of Super Desperation Radio this week.

The recent parting of ways between Super Arcade and Level|Up in SoCal was the big news that opened the episode. The cast talked about the schedule of Super going forward; how tournaments and streams could change; and where Level|Up may choose to take its brand in the future.

The show then mentioned several other news pieces before Walkman broached the show-extending topic of what makes a video game "good" or "bad." Factors such as nostalgia and technology were taken into consideration as the hosts weighed in with their thoughts about "retro" games versus modern titles and whether objectivity can actually exist in game reviews.

Super Desperation Radio Episode 334 Archive Online

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

Super Desperation Radio opened with talk of the recent Mastercup 7 Tekken tournament in Japan. Several of the cast managed to catch pieces of the show and its great high-level play, but the more than 15 hours of continuous action were too much for any one person at SDR to watch in one sitting.

Talk then moved to 4Gamer's Guilty Gear Xrd wiki and how experienced players can use it—even with poor Google translation—to find out what the new game will have in store for them when it releases next month.

Lastly, the conversation moved to 37 Reloaded and the question about whether the various tournaments will live up to expectations, or if competitors will be out of practice.

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

Twitch's new rules regarding what streamers can and cannot wear opened SDR, as the cast discussed Twitch's conduct policy and its sometimes apparent lack of enforcement.

Staying on the topic of stream behavior, the conversation moved to the recent grudge matches at Wednesday Night Fights and the lost art of trash talk. The crew made it a point to note that there are always lines players and spectators should not cross when simply trying to get under another competitor's skin.

Lastly, SDR talked about the forthcoming NEC, mentioning the KOFXIII tournament and the Japanese competitors showing up for airdash titles.

Super Desperation Radio Episode 332 Archive Online

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

Capcom Cup, Guilty Gear Xrd and possible Evo games were up for discussion as SDR returned from its one-week hiatus.

With VIP packages and general admission seats now available, the cast wondered what the final schedule for Capcom Cup would look like when the event takes place on Dec. 13.

The conversation then moved to Guilty Gear Xrd, and the game's recently released demo and U.S. street date of Dec. 16. Ayaikun talked about her recent experiences playing the title and how it is one of the most beautiful games she's ever seen in motion.

Lastly, the question of the Evo 2015 lineup was brought up and no one was really sure how it will shake out. Everyone agreed 2015 will be the first year multiple airdash games should make it onto the roster, but nothing is a sure bet at this point.

Mostly, however, there was in-depth discussion about the two new characters heading to Guilty Gear Xrd's console version, Sin and Elphelt, along with speculation about possible future characters.
