The guys then jumped into discussion about the new Guilty Gear Xrd character, Elphelt, before using that to sprindboard to other topics including the release of Metal Slug XX on Steam, the ability to play Steam's Guilty Gear #Reload online and video game novelizations.

Finally, the crew talked about what fighting game series they would revive if given the chance.

It's a rare week when all members of Super Desperation Radio show up to the podcast (even in brief cameo form), but the Labor Day weekend in the U.S. allowed the stars to align just right for the broadcast.

The crew spent much of the show talking about Nintendo news, from the reveal of Shulk in Smash Bros. and other character-related rumors to the new Pokkén Tournament announcement and finally the New 3DS. There was also discussion about leaks in gaming and how they are viewed both from a developer standpoint and a journalist standpoint. 

Later in the show, the group talked about the release of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax in Japan and the immediate jumps to conclusions by many online about the game's future.

After what seems like months of rumors about a potential buyout, Twitch was acquired by Amazon and the cast talked at length about the surprising news and what it could mean for both companies in the future (it could just mean everybody gets Twitch Turbo along with their Amazon Prime subscription, nobody knows). 

Meanwhile, SNK Playmore registered a new Maximum Impact trademark, which lead to conversation about the failings of the older MI games as well as whether this new title is the game SNKP has been advertising jobs for, or if the company is possibly preparing two titles for the future.

The crew also took the closing minutes of the show to complain about Team Brokentier's recent fast food rankings, talking about restaurants that BT missed and creating their own top three lists.

It was a Super Desperation Radio episode full of value as the cast covered some of the recent events in gaming. They talked about the reopening of Super Arcade and the first large-scale UNIEL events to take place before the game's first SoCal major at West Coast Warzone in September.

The crew also discussed the oddity that is the upcoming release of Guilty Gear XX #Reload to Steam, and talked about the ongoing development of Skullgirls' Beowulf.

Lastly, SDR talked at length about the SFIV bug list and SuperFX's recent interview with Mike Z and Omni about it.

Hot on the heels of the announcement that SNK Playmore is looking to hire developers to work on a new KOF game, SDR and especially Walkman took some time to air their grievances with the current video game industry. Taking aim mostly at the focus on mobile games by many big companies, the hosts argued for more balanced platform representation going forward.

The crew then talked about several smaller topics, including the recent Chaos Code beta test, before settling on the seemingly chaotic movements of player sponsorships in the fighting game community. The cast talked about the recents moves to join, and then leave, Revolution Gaming as well as the realities of what sponsorship means—and what it doesn't—in fighters.

SDR was joined by special guests Pain and Bellreisa to talk about the release of Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late and its future in the U.S. gaming scene. 

The show discussed many aspects of UNiEL, from the characters to how new players should approach the title when first starting to play it. They also examined the role of online play in improving a player's skills at the game.

Bell also made sure to note that Mizuumi is working to break down the title and hopes to have information such as frame data made available to the community as soon as possible.

It was a full house for SDR as the cast talked about Evolution 2014. It seemed as if Nocturnal would be filling in for Ayaikun, but the mention of anime brought the missing host onto the show as everyone shared their stories from the weekend.

The show was then joined by another guest as ComMando visited the cast to talk about the upcoming throwback tournament being held by Super Arcade in November 2014. While he couldn't say much about the details of the event, the man who runs IEBattlegrounds had a couple pieces of information he could offer SDR.

Lastly, the crew discussed all the recent airdasher news: from the release of UNiEL this week, to the revelations of new characters for both BlazBlue: Chronophantasma and Persona 4 Arena 2, all the way to Arc Revolution Cup in August.

After a one-week vacation, the SDR cast bid a fond farewell to the UFGT tournament series and looked forward toward Combo Breaker to start the show.

However, the big topics this week veered away from gaming news and into community issues as the state of pro gaming took priority. From the Capcom Pro Tour to the huge prize money being offered in the Dota2 world championships, SDR talked about how the future is bright for gaming if companies take the right steps to fund and promote their brands.

The other big discussion involved the "legitimacy" of tournaments and tournament wins, and the trash talk that has always existed in competitive gaming. Walkman in particular was very vocal about his feelings toward players who do not show up trying to take away the accomplishments of those who made the effort to come out and compete.

The big story on everyone's mind this week is the potential sale of Twitch to YouTube, and the cast weighed in with thoughts and potential eventualities surrounding the sale and what it would mean for both the FGC and normal content producers on YouTube and Twitch.

But while that was the biggest news, the crew started off talking about the inagural Super Desperation Open on May 16. The GGPO tournament, which this time featured Breakers Revenge, was a success and SDR thanked IEBattlegrounds' Armando Gonzalez for donating the first prize and advertising the event. 

Later, other topics expanded to UFGTX and the forthcoming StrongStyle 5 in September.

The cast was joined this week by Melty Blood player and Mizuumi administrator Bellreisa to discuss the upcoming release of Under Night In-Birth for PlayStation 3 in Japan.

Walkman, Hellpockets and Sanchez talked elatedly with Bell about the upcoming title, covering each of the characters and explaining what they bring to the table in terms of playstyle. The crew also spoke about possible characters for the console version of the game and their own hopes for crossover characters that could make it into French Bread's fighter.
