Capcom Cup 2015 was full of surprises and upsets, and SDR took time to discuss the players and highlights of the event. From Keoma's great run to Kazunoko's late-round domination, the tournament was definitely a high point in the history of Street Fighter IV.

The cast also talked at length about the playable demo of King of Fighters XIV that was on the floor at the PlayStation Experience. From game systems to visuals, Walkman and Hellpockets broke down what they liked—and what they didn't like—about SNK Playmore's upcoming offering. They also weighed in on whether KOFXIV could be a mainstream success for SNKP.

The forthcoming console release of Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- in the U.S. during spring 2016 lead off this week's episode of SDR, as the crew talked about possible patches and more DLC characters that could arrive with the title.

The conversation spawned several asides, including the idea of retailer-exclusive DLC and the practice of rewarding early adopters for purchasing a game, as Arc System Works has done by offering certain characters for free for a number of weeks after a game's release.

The conversation also broached the topic of Evolution commentary, as a joke made at Hellpockets' expense set off a firestorm on Twitter.

The question of "how much is too much?" loomed over SDR as the announcement of Cloud Strife added yet another character to Super Smash Bros. The cast talked about the problem of giant casts of characters in fighters but also how publishers will likely continue to include fan-favorite characters and DLC to keep revenue coming from their titles.

The Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- update also created some quick controversy as people were spreading incorrect translations for the changes, and SDR implored players to find someone to verify information before posting on the Internet.

It's always an adventure when Honzo Gonzo shows up on Super Desperation Radio, and this week was no different.

The show started with a quick recap of recent news, including the upcoming release date of BlazBlue Central Fiction, the possible spoiling of Street Fighter V's DLC characters and this weekend's U.S. South Lobby for Guilty Gear Xrd.

The show then moved to discussion about possible Evolution 2016 games, spurned on by the yearly tweet from Mr. Wizard asking player what games they would like to see in the main event. The cast talked about possible titles, what games seemed to be guaranteed a spot at the tournament and games that probably have no chance.

And then Honzo and Hellpockets started arguing about who would win a Capcom vs. SNK 2 money match between them.

It was a hodgepodge, a mishmash of ideas as Super Desperation Radio tackled the topics of the week.

The big news was SNK Playmore's departure from the pachislot business, and SDR discussed whether this meant players would actually see new console games from the developer.

The cast also discussed Dhalsim's inclusion in Street Fighter V, the recent events of Canada Cup and Youmacon, the list of changes in the new BlazBlue location test and the Evolution 2016 teaser trailer. In between all those topics, however, was a lot of nonsense.

It's only fall but it feels like the fighting game season is in full swing, and so many events are starting to clog the calendar that inevitably one or more were going to suffer. Unfortunately for San Diego, the first casualty was Paradise, and SDR talked about the event as it was going to be and whether Shin Blanka will bounce back for another offering next year.

This lead to a larger conversation about scheduling events, large and small, as the return of Wednesday Night Fights and the upcoming addition of Guilty Gear Xrd to Next Level Battle Circuit are contributing to a very crowded possible calendar for players.

The crew also talked about King of Fighters XIV making a playable appearance at the PlayStation Experience, and ended the show with the joys of Big Buck Hunter.

The fires have been stoked at Super Desperation Radio, and for the second week in a row Hellpockets delivered some discussion fit for "A Current Affair."

First, however, SDR talked about the success of CEOtaku and their thoughts about the event in general. They discussed the more laid-back environment, and also some complaints about commentary on finals day. This segued into a brief discussion about Dizzy's upcoming return to Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator-.

Then Hellpockets brought up the recent controversy in the Marvel scene, followed by the seeming apprehension of the airdash scene to attend NorCal Regionals.

Back on track, the show talked about the successful funding of Them's Fightin' Herds, as well as the future of Wednesday night tournaments in Southern California.

Robot disease was clearly infecting the cast of Super Desperation Radio, as problems with Discord hampered but could not shut down the show.

SoCal Regionals is now behind the FGC, and SDR talked about experiences at the event and its logistics. They are also hoping to never again return to Ontario, California.

Hellpockets then took the lead and made note of the recent controversy surrounding F K Digital and its game Chaos Code. The rest of the cast offered opinions and SuperFX tried to steer the conversation onto the topic of good community managers and public relations.

Lastly, SDR wrapped up many of the small pieces of news from the last week including Laura in SFV, the end of the Xrd vote and Blade Arcus not having online play.

Hellpockets lead off the show with part of his recent interview with TommyGunzz, in which the Texas native gave his side of the money match and his thoughts about where he stands in USF4. This lead SDR to talk about the history of Texas in fighters and about the feelings that many players have about being overlooked because they don't live on a coast.

The topic then switched to accidental reveal of Laura in Street Fighter V, as SDR talked about how something like that could happen and how everyone feels about the new character.

Lastly, it wouldn't be Super Desperation Radio without talk of Guilty Gear, and the recent Xrd character vote poll and the Team St1ckbug major were also discussed.

It was essentially a two-topic show as SDR first recalled Absolute Battle 6 and specifically the money match that has been called "The Crackening." The cast examined the matchup—its lead-up, results and fallout—all while adding their own views on what will happen now that the gauntlet has been thrown down to other players in California.

Meanwhile, the road to 2016 in the fighting game community is littered with events, as almost every week until the new year has at least one major or large regional tournament. SDR talked about the upcoming events and broke down, from their perspectives, what events will be worth players' time and money.

The Discord era of SDR began as the show moved from the ever-crashing Skype application for this show. And then promptly discussion crashed as SDR took on the King of Fighters XIV teaser trailer, with cast members talking about the pros and cons of the reveal. While it is certainly good to see a new KOF, nothing about this trailer was impressive.

Discussion of the visuals in KOF XIV lead to a general discussion about the decreasing quality of visuals in fighting games and early builds, as Street Fighter V was put under the microscope with its recent reveal of Karin.

Lastly, Hellpockets' interest in Them's Fightin' Herds started a discussion about the game's IndieGoGo and SDR was impressed with the game's initial trailer and potential.

Technology conspired to get the best of Super Desperation Radio, as both Skype and later Twitch served up technical difficulties throughout the show.

Undaunted, the SDR cast talked about Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- coming home in spring 2016 as well as the recent location tests for Jam.

And speaking of new characters, Street Fighter V's Rashid was also a topic as SDR talked about his gameplay and tried to figure out who the remaining SFV characters will be.

Finally, four players are being flown out to the Team St1ckBug event on Oct. 3, and SDR talked about movements in the airdash scene and a possible upcoming Xrd event for the Southwest.

In a world with "Hot Ryu," all other topics on Super Desperation Radio could only receive so much airtime. SDR discussed the new Street Fighter V costumes and look of the game in general before latching itself to the costume that started trending on Twitter.

Before that, however, SDR talked about the weekend's Summer Jam and SCR Prelude II events including the now legendary 13-0 that was handed out by SonicFox to Perfect Legend at their match in Philadelphia.

And speaking of Mortal Kombat, the crew discussed the new patch that is trying to remove most of the game's option selects and Ed Boon's tease for big news coming later in the week.

The release of Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator dominated the conversation on SDR as the crew talked about the game's new look, its additional characters—Johnny and Jack-O—and a possible release schedule. With Jam releasing in the future and a vote being held to bring another GG character into Xrd, it's hard to pinpoint any kind of timeframe for a console release of Revelator.

Hellpockets also brought his usual complaints about Sega and the guys talked about River City Ransom: Underground along with the possible revival of other Technos franchises under new owner Arc System Works.

The news and results from Arc Revolution Cup 2015 were the first topics of discussion for this week's SDR. Jam's return to Guilty Gear was a big surprise, and the crew talked about how Jam could work under the new Xrd system. SDR then segued into how other characters could work under the new system mechanics if and when they are brought back into the series.

NESiCA's release into Southern California via Round 1 was also a huge topic of interest, as Sanchez and company talked about the price, community interest and how this could affect the future. With Ultra Street Fighter IV and BlazBlue Chronophantasma Extend already available, SDR talked about how it is up to players to support the release so other Round 1 stores can benefit and also so that more games can become available. One such game is the forthcoming BlazBlue Central Fiction, and the upcoming location test was covered by the cast.
