« For Weekend Fun: A look back at some of Capcom's 90s promo videos for Street Fighter 2 »
Just for fun, over the weekend, let's take a look back in time at some of Capcom's promo vids for versions of Street Fighter 2 for the SNES and Genesis back in the early 90s.
Street Fighter 2 Turbo promo video sent out by Capcom in the 90s to promote the SNES version as well as some other Capcom products.
Here's a promo vid for Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition for the Sega Genesis. It reuses some of the footage from the above promo for Turbo.
Thanks to NeoGAF for pointing one of these videos out!

xD those where some great 'strategies' ahhhahaha
I've actually played that SFII tyco handheld game! I had no idea what the hell was going on tho haha I just mashed with blanka! What's up with that rock 'em sock 'em robots esq..... thing tho? I'm down to see some money matches on that!
I did not see not one goddamn strategy! lol
holy shit! i used to have all of those... sf2t AND the handheld!
I really miss those days at Bayside and wasting time at the Max. All I have now are California Dreams.
How funny would it be if they found that actor and got Tomo for a throwback SSF4 commercial?
I almost cried at how epic this was. Everything from the guy to the strategies to the terrible acting.
I actually still have my street fighter 2 championship edition cartridge for sega. Yes i played street fighter on sega. Pressing start to switch from kick to punch was no fun!
Those guitar riffs are EPIC.
Oh god, the first one has transcribed audio captions! YES! YES!
Man, how did the rock'em sock'em Street Fighters miss my childhood?! How did that Blanka in the commercial have better make-up than the Street Fighter movie?!
Seriously though, I fully anticipate rock'em sock'em SF at EVO this year. Better stream that shit.
I like at 1:15, those kids are playing the title screen and the Say no to drugs screen.
better than the arcade version my ass, lmao.
the genesis version was i guess closer because it used fm synth audio like the cps1, though still hardly what i'd call "better".

Hah! I still have the cassette tape for the champion edition. Without a VCR, I'm glad I was able to view its contents once again thanks to IPW!
