Why Me Dojo? 007 After Super Desperation Radio (10/21)

Why Me Dojo?, hosted by Josh, is holding its 7th tournament this Monday!  The venue is located at 133 Copeland Street, Petaluma CA.  The event page can be found here.

Sign ups for the event start at 7pm and continue until 8pm.  We will be hosting Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2012 and Ultimate Marvel vs capcom 3. Registration is just $1 while entry for each game is $4.  Both games will be played on XBox 360.

Fighting Game Communities Assemble - FGC Database

After 3 weeks of collecting data from user submissions we now have a start to our Fighting Game Community Database.  If you haven't checked out The Show That Sucks we have been asking people to submit their FGC to be involved in a worldwide effort to give people a place to go to search for the nearest FGC.  The goal here is for people all around the world to find their way easier into the Fighting Game Community.  

I would like to thank everybody that took the time to submit their FGC no matter how big or small it was.  If there is one thing I have learned from the past 4 years of playing fighting games is that it only takes two people to create great players.  Now click the jump to find an FGC near you!

The Show That Sucks #50 With Harrison and Honzo Gonzo Tonight at 10pm PST

After collecting communities from around the world The Show That Sucks is set for its 50th episode.  Myself(Harrison) and Honzo Gonzo will be giving a 101 crash course for getting yourself into the Fight Game Community, from where to buy the game to how to get yourself to the nearest session so you can level up and compete with top players.

Fighting Game Communities Assemble - Submit Your FGC (50+ Submissions so far)

The Show That Sucks is approaching its 50th episode and we want to do something special. We are going to talk about how to get into the FGC and in order to do that we need fighting game communities! 

We are looking for ANY community. It does not matter how big or small you are, which games you play or what side of the planet you are from, all that matters is you enjoy playing fighting games and want the scene to grow!

What we need from you is the location of your scene and how you communicate with each other, or how somebody from the outside can get information like the time or location of a session or tournament. This can be a website, Twitter account, Facebook page, forum or anything somebody can use to get information on a local event. A Stream is not required.

Example: USA - Sacramento, CA - Capitol Fight District - facebook.com/capitolfightdistrict - Twitch.tv/capitolfightdistrict

You can submit your scene to Harrison@iplaywinner.com, IPLAYWINNER on Twitter, IPLAYWINNER on Facebook, Harrison(Myself) on Twitter, Honzo Gonzo on Twitter, leave a message here or comment on last week's epsiode of TSTS on Youtube.

"Why Me Dojo? 6" After Super Desperation Radio At 8:00pm PST Tonight

Josh is hosting his sixth monthly event at Why Me Dojo? Tomorrow! The Dojo is located at 133 Copeland Street in Petaluma CA. It's perfect for North Bay guys wanting to level up and for pros to keep their skills sharp.

Registration is from 7:00pm - 8:00pm PST and will cost $1 with each game being $4 to enter. Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition Ver. 2012 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be hosted on Xbox 360 setups.

Lanhammer 2013 Today At 2pm PST

Lanhammer a free to enter tournament in San Francisco, CA will be happening today at 2pm PST. If you aren't able to make it we will be streaming the action starting with Ultimate Marvel vs capcom 3 on our Twitch channel.

LOST IN SPACE: The Final Frontier Results and Replays

The day finally came, the very last Starbase Arcade tournament happened this past Sunday.  Starbase has always been the home of Street Fighter and it was no different this time with 58 entrants.  We of course had Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 with 22 entrants, The King Of Fighters 13 with 12 entrants, and Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown with a solid 8.   

Thank you to everybody that came out and supported even if you just came to spectate and eat bistecs.  I would like to thank Frankie, VDon, and Honzo Gonzo for helping run brackets, couldn't have finished it without you guys.  

We did stream the event on our Twitch channel but the quality wasn't that great so for people that want to check it out again or for the first time make sure to check out the rebroadcast this Friday!

LOST IN SPACE: The Final Frontier - Sunday August 11th

You have been there for Starbase Wednesday, competed in LOST IN SPACE and watched live events on our Twitch.tv Channel.  With Starbase Arcade closing next month we are hosting one last event to go out with a bang.

The tournament will take place at Starbase Arcade, Sunday, August 11.  We will be hosting Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2012, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown.  Each game will be $5 to enter and registration will be $7.  The tournament will be ran on XBOX 360.

Sign ups will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until 2:30 for VF5:FS and KOFXIII.  VF5:FS and KOFXIII will begin 3 p.m.

Sign ups will begin at 3 p.m. for SSF4 and UMVC3.  SSF4 and UMVC3 will begin at 5 p.m.  

Starbase Arcade is located at 1545 4th Street, San Rafael, Calif.  It is right next to The Mayflower so if you like to get drinks and play it is next door.  For food you can always check out Sol Food.
