French Bread-focused Climax of Night event coming in November 2018

During Combo Breaker 2018, Ben "Shinobi!" Robinson announced a new event designed for fans of the fighting game developer named after baked goods.

Climax of Night: many breathe forfeit to champion's birth will be a two-day tournament taking place in Atlanta, Georgia, sometime in November 2018. The event will see French Bread games as the featured titles, with Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition in the spotlight. They will be joined by the new BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle to make up the main roster.

No other details about the event have been revealed at this time, but Robinson said on Twitter he hopes to have preregistration open in June before CEO. For more information on Climax of Night, readers can follow the event's official account and Robinson on Twitter.

Registration open for AnimEVO 2018, six more games added

AnimEVO has opened signups for its myriad tournaments that will take place during Evolution 2018 and has also added six more games to the field.

Samurai Shodown II, Aquapazza, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition, Akatsuki Blitzkampf, Windjammers and Granblue Fantasy have all been added to the AnimEvo roster. In addition, the Windjammers tournament will be part of Dotemu's Flying Power League with a $3,000 prize pot and free entry for players.

Registration for all AnimEVO games can be found at Smashgg except for Gundam Versus which will open at a later date. Players interested in AnimEvo events must be a registered attendee of Evolution 2018 to participate, and BlazBlue Central Fiction, Koihime Enbu, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] and King of Fighters XIV will not accept on-site signups.

Lineup announced for AnimEvo 2017

Daryl "DJCream" Bunao joined Super Desperation Radio to announce the games that will be part of AnimEvo at Evolution 2017 on July 14-16, 2017. 

The list contains 11 games at this point, but can be expanded if players step up to run other games. The AnimEvo games are: Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition, Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code, Gundam Extreme Vs Full Boost, Vampire Savior, Nitroplus Blasterz, Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe, Aquapazza, Puyo Puyo Tetris and Arcana Heart 3: Love Max!!!!!

New characters Ako & Lucian coming to Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition as paid DLC

Photo by DengekiThe cast of Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition gets a little bigger with two more characters from another light novel by the imprint.

DENGEKI BUNKO FIGHTING CLIMAX IGNITION NETOGE NO YOME WA ONNA NO KO JANAI TO OMOTTA DLC SCREENSHOTS

As paid downloadable content, Ako and Lucian from Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta? will be added to the game as playable and assist characters respectively. This brings the number of playable characters to 20 while assists will expand to 31.

No details have been set on when will they be available but will be playable at Dengeki's Game Festival on March 13. People who attend the event will also be able to receive promotional material including character badges and a mini soundtrack.

More Sword Art Online Characters Coming to Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition as DLC

The console port of Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax's latest iteration will have two more characters as downloadable content

Sword Art Online's Yuuki and Llenn are freely available to owners of the upcoming PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition for a limited time. Yuuki is the fully playable character while Llenn acts as support. They will join SAO characters Kirito, Asuna, and Leafa.

While the ports are coming on Dec. 17, 2015, in Japan, both Yuuki and Llenn are not set for a specific release. Screenshots for the characters can be found on Dengeki's official website.

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition Adds New Supports

The newest version of DFC is already scheduled to release on Japanese consoles on Dec. 17, but Sega has announced three new support characters that will join the update's expanded roster.

Iriya Kana from Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu, Tomo Asama from Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere and Zero from Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho will join the four additional characters and three other new supports that are a part of the Ignition update. Ignition also contains system and balance changes for the original DFC characters and supports.

DFC Ignition is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3, 4 and Vita consoles.

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition Coming to JP Consoles Dec. 17

The updated version of Sega's crossover fighter will be coming home for Japanese audiences in December. Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition will be released on Dec. 17 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Vita consoles, and first-run copies will include a special downloadable system theme.

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition adds new characters, new systems and rebalances the existing cast from the first DFC game. Ignition is getting an arcade update this fall, and it appears those changes will be included in the console release.

This is of course bad news for upcoming North American and European releases of the original DFC, which will not release until Oct. 6.

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition Releases July 28 in Japan

The follow-up to Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax will soon be released in Japanese arcades.

Named Climax, the game will feature a balance update, new gameplay systems and new characters Quenser Barbotage from Heavy Object and Emi Yusa from The Devil is a Part-Timer.

The Climax update was location tested in Japan during June 2015. Hit the jump for some gameplay footage of the new release.

Untitled Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Followup Featuring Characters from Light Novel Series Heavy Object

The upcoming expansion to Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax will add a new character and an assist partner from the military-themed series Heavy Object.

Protagonist Quenser Barbotage is the selected playable character to represent the series. While not considered assists, characters Hevia Winchell and Millinda Brantini will appear in Quenser's moves. For the partner representative, Froletia Capistrano was chosen.

Move details for both Quenser and Froletia haven't been revealed so make sure to stay tuned for footage in the future.

Untitled Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Followup Anounced, New Characters, New Systems & Rebalance

Sega's fighting game based on the Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint will have another version this summer.

The yet untitled followup to Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is coming to Japanese arcades with a full rebalance of the existing cast, new subsystems and new characters. One of the newer characters in this update is Emi Yusa of the light novel series The Devil is a Part-Timer!

No news of a console version at the moment. This announcement is a tease of what's to be fully revealed in the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation magazine in Japan.

AnimEvo Lineup, ASW-Sanctioned Team Events Announced for Evo 2015 

During the May 18 episode of Super Desperation Radio, Daryl "DJ Cream" Bunao and Alan "St1ckbug" Bakes joined the cast to announce the side airdasher tournaments that will be taking place at Evolution 2015. The two announced eight titles that will be part of AnimEvo, which be handled by a collaboration of East and West Coast organizers.

In addition, Bakes also announced that Arc System Works and Aksys Games will be sanctioning two 3-on-3, single-elimination tournaments for BBCPEX and Xrd aside from the main tournaments at Evolution. The entry fee, prizes and rules for the tournament, however, are still to be announced in the future.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Story Mode Revealed

The console versions of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will contain an exclusive story mode. Titled "Dream Duel," the mode offers voiced scenes in which the various characters from DFC interact with one another. According to Siliconera

With all the mix of characters and their stories, the Dream Duel mode has over 60 different story scenarios, where you’ll get to see the likes of Asuna from Sword Art Online have talks with Shana from Shakugan no Shana.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax releases on Nov. 13, 2014, for the PlayStation 3 and Vita in Japan.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- & Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax To Be Localized For Asian Countries

Two upcoming fighting games from Japan will be reaching out to neighboring Asian nations.

Both Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax were annouced for Asian release by Sony. DBFC will be localized in Traditional Chinese while GGXrd will also get the Korean treatment. Other games were featured in the localization announcement including Grand Theft Auto V and Yakuza Zero.

These games will also be localized for English players. You can find a list of games to be localized here.

Abundant Amount of Bonus Items Offered in Japan Release of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax

Final box arts for the Japanese release of Dengeki Bunko Fighting ClimaxJapanese players have a wide range of places to get Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax with a special bonus item.

Sega of Japan announced all the places that will offer special items included with DBFC. With 21 online and offline stores listed, each outlet will offer a unique bonus. Examples include PC wallpapers from Amazon Japan, a mug from WonderGOO and a commuter pass from NeoWing. AmiAmi, one of the featured outlets will sell a cleaning cloth; international users can import from this store.

Console & Handheld Trailer For Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, Coming November 2014 In Japan

The Sega and Dengeki Bunko collaborative fighter has a new trailer showing what's in store for the upcoming home versions of the game.

This four minute trailer of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, developed by French Bread and Ecole, features in-game footage of the many characters from various Dengeki Bunko light novels such as Sword Art Online and Durarara!!. Akira and Pai from Virtua Fighter are also included.

The trailer also shows various traits coming to both the PlayStaton 3 and PlayStation Vita versions of the game. One special characteristic includes cross-save support between the PS3 and Vita versions. Similar to French Bread's Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late, players can also unlock additional character colors and additional content with redeemable points. The home versions will also include a special story mode called "Dream Duel."

Developers Revealed For Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, Interview With 4Gamer

The recently announced fighting game based on the Japanese animated imprint Dengeki Bunko revealed the development team.

Known for making Melty Blood and Under Night In-Birth, the collaborative team of French Bread and Ecole will be making Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax. Sega will also be contributing with core direction by Valkyria Chronicles' Takaharu Terada.

Japanese website 4Gamer interviewed Terada and co-producers Ryutaro Nonaka and Juro Watari about Fighting Climax. You can find the full Japanese piece here and a translated piece over on Siliconera. Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will be available in Japanese arcades with plans for a console release in the near future!
