I love NAMCO Tekken trailers! Always have, always will and this one is no exception. I just wish I wasnt so bad at this game!

MARCH '09 ARCADIA MAGAZINE RANKINGS

Tekken 6 has reigned supreme in Japan for months on end, but this month is a bit of surprise: Arc System Works' BlazBlue has taken the #1 spot. This should answer peoples questions on whether or not BlazBlue would ever be considered a "competitive game".

Tekken fans shouldn't be too upset though, both the vanilla version and Bloodline Rebellion are still in the top ten. The two rankings on my personal favorites, VF5: R and SFIV haven't changed much from previous months.

TEKKEN 6: BLOODLINE REBELLION PLAYABLE IN CA & TN

Most of us will have to wait till later this year to play this on console, but arcade operators in California and Tennessee have taken the initiative and upgraded their Tekken 6 units to Bloodline Rebellion just a month after the game has come out in Japan.

TEKKEN 6: BLOODLINE REBELLION NOW PLAYABLE IN JAPANESE ARCADES

T6:BR dropped in Japanese arcades just a couple days ago and a lot of videos are popping up on YouTube already. The game obviously looks great, it's just too bad we have to wait till Fall 09 to play it!

NEW TEKKEN 6: BLOODLINE REBELLION IMAGES

The official Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion site has been updated with some new images of the game. There are also PDF's for each character that lists all their moves.  The inputs are easy enough to understand but any notes and move names are in Japanese so you may have to wait it out a bit for a translation.

The SDTEKKEN crew posted up a bunch of new Tekken news over the past week. One major piece of information is it looks like NAMCO is considering console exclusive characters for the release of Tekken 6: BR. It's really anyone's guess who it could be but I can't be the only one who hopes it's not more Star Wars characters!

NAMCO always creates the best trailers for their Tekken games and this one is no exception. MarkMan posted up the new trailer on his Youtube channel earlier so check it out below:

ARCADIA MAGAZINE RANKINGS

Thanks to Reno for these current rankings of the top 10 arcade games in Japan. While US players complain about the gameplay system of Tekken 6 (in NorCal anyway) the game shows no signs of slowing down in Japan. I have no doubt when Bloodline Rebellion is released it will be one of the best selling fighting games of all time.

In regards to the other games, I'm having a hard time recalling the last ranking but I think SFIV (my current favorite) and VF5: R swapped places this time. Also, I think BalzBlue just came out so we will have to wait another month or two to see how well the game is received over there.

TEKKEN 6: BLOODLINE REBELLION LOCATION TEST: VIDEOS AND REPORTS

A little late on this one, but I stumbled upon this tonight while browsing around NeoGAF and SDTEKKEN tonight. Looks like the first Tekken 6: BR location test was conducted just the other day. MarkMan posted up some new videos of the event and Reno posts his impressions on NeoGAF.

Somewhat related, I've had a chance to play vanilla Tekken 6 at San Francisco State University this week, and it seems to be a lot of fun. Many hardcore players say the game is broken in many ways but the machine at SFSU always has plenty of people waiting to play when I go there (much more than SFIV even.) Ive tried to play a bit of Steve and Kazyua but sadly I am not that good at the game. I do plan on playing more though in anticipation of the release of Tekken 6: BR which should come to consoles in Fall '09 according to Namco.

TEKKEN 6: BLOODLINE REBELLION COMING TO XBOX360

TEKKEN 6So unless this was a major mistake by Gamespot, it looks like Tekken 6 is coming to XBOX360. A preview video of the game was shown on Gamespot.com that is now taken down, and at the end had the 360 logo. This may be one of the reasons Namco decided to (lazer) scrape the vanilla PS3 version.

TEKKEN 6: BLOODLINE REBELLION COMING TO PS3

I always figured this was the case but it was confirmed earlier this week by Namco. According to SDTEKKEN.COM it will have more content than the arcade version. 

A couple things that are on my mind: was this always the case? How long has the PS3 version been in development? How will they plan the release date with so many fighting games coming out next year?

It seemed like holiday 2008 would be a great time to drop Tekken 6 but this may mean we have to wait till late 2009 for this game.

TEKKEN 6: BLOODLINE REBELLION - 2 NEW CHARACTERS

MarkMan over at sdtekken.com posted up some new information on the updated version of Tekken 6 that will be shown at Tokyo Game Show next month. Two new characters will be added to the roster. Rumors have it they will have ridiculous juggles and possibly some broken moves... Just kidding Tekken fans.. well, not really..
