Epic New Primal Rage Combo Video

When I used to visit arcades in London as a kid, UMK3 was 50p a game. When I only had 30 pounds, I'd saunter over to the Primal Rage cabinet which was 20p cheaper to play and go in with some prehistoric geezers.

It pleases me to see that Hanzo from team MKK and PrimalRageLA have created their second Primal Rage combo video after a 5 year hiatus! The combo video goes through the characters and even features multiple, platform-specific combos.

EGL 8 SSF4 Finals Videos feat. Ryan Hart & Taaha

The finals from European Gaming League 8 have been uploaded, with the grand finals pitting Taaha (Abel) against WW/MCZ.Ryan Hart (Sagat, Ryu). Taaha is fresh off his victory in Holland at the last RSD as well as a placing at Dreamhack Summer and starts the final in the winner's bracket. The final is hotly contested between the two and a thrill to watch as I'm sure you will find. The Top 8 playlist is also below.

World Game Cup 2013 announced

The dates and games for World Game Cup 2013 have been announced. WGC returns to Cannes, France March 1st - 3rd 2012. The official roster will feature SSF4, UMVC3, SFxT, KOFXIII, Soulcalibur V, TTT2, DOA5, Persona 4 and Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. WGC is the largest event on the European calendar and the one that everyone attends if humanly possible. Registration will open in November at www.worldgamecup.fr. 

Some highlights of WGC 2012 are below, such as Fox vs Mr KOF, Zak Bennett vs WhiteBl4ck and Tokido vs Mago.

AE2012: Dreamhack Valencia SSF4 Videos Now On YouTube

The uploads from the recent Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition ver.2012 tournament at Dreamhack Valencia in Spain have completed. There was over €3,000 on the line along with prizes from Sennheiser and Hauppauge. WW/MCZ.Andreas (Rufus) sent finalist WDM/MCZ.Luffy (Rose) to losers and beat him again in the grand finals. Tournament Organiser Series #1: Tritton Primer Headset

Aloha! Not a very British greeting I know, but I am feeling exotic after a glass of tropical juice.

The deeper you get into the FGC, the less time you spend actually playing the games. It's an odd fact, but one that isn't hard to stomach as you take on more responsibility within the general scene and help push things forward.

Many of you will be familiar with my streams but a lot of you may not realise I also run, plan and co-ordinate many events & tournaments as well. It is with the TO hat on I have made a new video series, the 'Tournament Organiser' series, in a bid to share knowledge to improve the general quality of tournaments across the board.

Dreamhack Summer '12: SFxT 2v2, SSF4, $10,500 prize money

Dreamhack have announced the line up for the Dreamhack Energiser Fighting Championship at Dreamhack Summer 2012. Street Fighter X Tekken and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition tournaments will be at dreamhack summer. Hot on the heels of EVO's announcement, SFxT will be a 2v2 tournament.

 $10,500 will be on the line, with SSF4 having a $7,500 pot, and SFxT having a $3,000 pot. The event will also be sponsored by Mad Catz and Tritton, with Mad Catz's SFxT VS sticks on display at the event. Both tournaments will be streamed on ARMSHOUSE @ TwitchTV by yours truly. I will also be presenting the grand finals on the main stage (so no button mashing heroes this year!). WW.Ryan Hart has won more Summer Championships than any other player so far; will recent Winter winner Infiltration return with Laugh to challenge for the title?

Western Wolves & Ryan Hart sign F-Word, Laugh, Infiltration, Chocolo

LowLandLions has changed its format to focus its main brand on the Benelux area of Europe, and has created another brand, Western Wolves, for their global operations. The LLL fighting game roster has moved to this new brand and signed some new players. Joining The likes of WW/MCZ Ryan Hart will be F-Word (UK), Chocolo (Spain) Laugh (Korea) & Infiltration (Korea). Ryan goes on to say we can expect them to sign some Japanese players in the near future in the video below, taken from the end of the Armshouse stream in London tonight. Chocolo is regarded as the best Akuma in Europe, while F-Word is one of the best Ibuki players in Europe, previously the best Rufus in Europe before switching to his favourite character in SSF4.

Resetting the Bracket: Pause and Reflect or RTSD?

On Wednesday's episode 99 of Live on Three, Marcus 'djWHEAT' Graham covered a few topics relating to tournament organisers, based around presentation and education; one topic was on fighting game tournaments, specifically when one is at the point of a reset bracket in grand finals.

Marcus' argument was that when the bracket has been reset, time should be taken for the commentators to discuss what just happened, what it means and what happens now. Too often do we see players mashing rematch and the match continues without a second thought or satisfactory explanation. I agree with him, however this produces problems that must be dealt with.

EGL 4 finals: WDM.Louffy vs LLL|MCZ.Ryan Hart

EGL 4 at the Emirates Stadium concluded last weekend in London. The grand final saw WatchDaMatch's Louffy face off once again against LowLandLions/Madcatz's Ryan Hart, who was in the winners bracket. The full match is embedded below, followed by an interview with the winner that looks towards Canada Cup this weekend, which both players will attend (along with the 3rd place finisher Problem X).

Soul Calibur V: Paris Invitational Community Post-mortem Provides Excruciating Detail

LLL.MCZ.Kayane has posted a humongous blog following the recent Soul Calibur 5 gathering in Paris, France. In it, she covers the 8-team, 5v5 battle they had and breaks down the players' thoughts on the game so far and opinions on specific characters. There is a HUGE amount of information on the game in her blog, so check it out. Those of you who read her interview with iPLAYWINNER will know that this is her main game, so she's pretty excited about it. The producer of the game, Hisaharu Tago-san, had a message for the players which was read aloud by Kayane. Check out the video, along with some player impressions, below!

Mortal Kombat: Exploring Quan Chi

MK9 was released on Thursday here in Europe. After playing throgh the entirety of story mode in order to unlock Quan Chi, I spent some time in training mode and made a video of the interesting things I found out about him. Watch out for that damage bonus!

MVC3 Improvements Video

In comparison to the general menu system in other games, I have found Marvel vs Capcom 3 to be lacking in some basic functions which I'm surprised to find lacking in the game.

For example, there is no option to kick players from your lobby. So when someone with a horrible connection joins my lobby and causes havoc, I am powerless to do anything about it.

I made a short video summarising my issues with the menu system in the hope that it is taken into consideration for future updates to the MVC3 system.

Beat By Contest: Groups

I'm in a hotel in France right next to the border with Switzerland with Dawgtanian, Dieminion & F-Word in preparation for Beat By Contest this weekend. The groups for the solo tournament have just been announced and are as follows. The tournament will see a number of Japanese in action such as Tokido, Sakonoko and Mago along with a number of high profile European players like Luffy, StarNab, Dawgtanian and F-Word. Dieminion will be representing America; Justin Wong, Marn and Ricky Ortiz were expected however none will attend.
