Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R Update Confirmed for August On PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 Build Still Delayed

There is good news for PlayStation 3 owners of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, as today Arc System Works announced that the upcoming R patch will be available by the end of the month for PlayStation 3 owners.

The posting on ASW's official site also details some of the other features of the patch, including an upgraded visual interface, character adjustments from this version, drastic improvements over the user interface in the online play and the ability to now play Kliff and Justice.

You can find more details here. The upcoming R update will be available to PlayStation 3, while the Xbox 360 version is still delayed at this time.

EVO 2013: Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Footage

Although most eyes were focused on the main streams during Evolution weekend, the Bring Your Own Console area of the event had great action in games such as BlazBlue, SoulCalibur V and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

The Guilty Gear community also banded together to run and stream its own event, as Montreal's Bibiquadium and Southern California's Jyosua worked to cover as many matches as possible. The event even garnered Japanese interest, as several players including Dogura made a big impact on the brackets.

As console gamers await the release of Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R and the far-off release of Guilty Gear Xrd, members of the GG scene have taken it upon themselves to help new players get into the game they enjoy. One such resource for new players is "Guilty Bits," a video series that breaks down individual characters of the game in short, five-minute videos.

"Guilty Bits" attempts to use terms that will be famililar even to those with only a rudimentary knowledge of Guilty Gear. Each video gives an overview of a certain character's style of play as well as options for both offense and defense. The series is currently ongoing and has covered 9 of the game's 23 characters.

Arc System Works Festival Coming This Weekend

Fans of Arc System Works games such as BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena and Guilty Gear will want to keep their eyes fixed on the computer monitor this weekend as ASW throws its yearly Arc Revolution Cup, a Super Battle Opera-styled tournament for each of the company's three main titles.

Starting Saturday in Japan with last chance qualifiers for each game, the main tournaments play out throughout the day on Sunday. Hit the jump for the schedule and individual game brackets.

GGXX: Accent Core Plus R For Japanese PlayStation Vita On March 19

The latest update to Guilty Gear XX will soon be available outside of arcades but through Sony's latest handheld on March 19.

Accent Core Plus R is the current build which features various modifications done to all the characters including Sol Badguy, Testament, and Chipp Zanuff. Modes featured in the home releases including story mode and M.O.M. mode will be featured in the Vita release.

Info regarding the console update to Plus R is not available at the moment since its "Spring 2013" release announcement. Stay tuned when news come up but check out the trailer of the Vita version after the jump!

Arc System Works Announced Arc Revolution Cup 2013

In the year of Arc System Works' 25th anniversary, the company announced another edition of their special tournament Arc Revolution Cup.

The tournament will be part of ArcSys' umbrella event Arc System Works Festival which will both take play on May 19, 2013. ARC will be focusing on their three latest games: Persona 4 Arena, BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R featuring players all around Japan who can earn qualifying spots from February 16 to April 21.

If you live in Japan and play these games, this is a great opportunity to compete!

GGXX: Version 1.10 Of Accent Core Plus R Announced For January Release

The Accent Core Plus R update for Guilty Gear XX is getting a new balance patch to the game planned to be available to Japanese arcades next year.

This new patch changes properties from moves of a majority of the playable cast including Chipp, Zappa, Testament, Kliff, and Justice. There is currently no info if these changes will carry over to the upcoming Plus R update for consoles next Spring.

GGXX: Accent Core Plus Console Receiving R Update In Spring 2013

For those who play Guilty Gear XX and don't live in Japan, the Accent Core Plus R update will be coming soon to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3!

Dated during Spring 2013, the update will permit Justice and Kliff Undersn to be playable in online mode, apply the balance changes to this new version, the ability to switch between R and Accent Core Plus versions, and new trophies/achievements. Aside from the R changes, there will be improvements to online mode and bug fixes.

Make sure to check out the balance changes while getting ready for the update!

GGXX: Accent Core Plus Coming To NA PlayStation Network Next Week

After some silence, the PlayStation 3 version of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is now coming to the North American PlayStation Network Store.

The game will be coming next Tuesday, December 4 and will be priced the same as the Xbox 360 version, $14.99. In regards to other regions including Europe, Arc System Works' Takeshi Yamanaka said to wait a bit longer.

For those who awaited the PS3 version and unable to get it on the Japanese PlayStation Network Store, get ready for next week!

GGXX: Tutorials From Hit Confirm And Brokentier For New Players

On the Xbox 360 side of things, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is now available on the Marketplace for 1200 Microsoft Points/$15 USD! PlayStation 3 users will just have to wait a week longer! For those new and interested in the series, here are some tutorials on how to get started!

Released in January, Brazillian community site Hit Confirm has a two-part video tutorial (Part 1, Part 2) on the game's mechanics and overall system. There is also information on advance techniques in the series. For those curious on characters, Brokentier provided a simple yet important guide on each character's pros, cons, and main objectives.

Team St1ckbug 9/22/12 Blazblue, Guilty Gear, and Persona Finals Videos

Jourdal has uploaded the finals of the Team St1ckbug tournament that was held last Saturday at the Next Level Arcade. The arcade has been having problems with their internet recently so there was no stream, but thankfully St1ckbug recorded all of winners, losers, and grand finals of Persona, Guilty Gear, and Blazblue.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R Out Now In Japanese Arcades

The latest update to Guilty Gear XX is finally available in Japanese arcades.

XX Accent Core Plus R is playable on HD cabinets powered by Sega's RingEdge 2 hardware, unlike previous iterations running on Sega's NAOMI. The console downloadable version of XX Accent Core Plus will be available later this year with the R update planned for later.

If you have plans to attend Tokyo Game Show, the game will be playable there along with some bonus related items available. BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma is also playable!

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus Coming to PS3 and XBOX360 in October, "R" Version Update Patch Available at a Later Date

Andria Sang is reporting that the console version of Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is coming to both PSN and XBLA in late October. Keep in mind that this version will be based off of the PS2 build of the game and is not the same as the "R" version that Japanese arcades will be picking up in late September.That being said, the console release will receive an update after launch that will bring it up to date with the arcade version of the game. No word just yet on a time frame for the patch.
