Watchtower stream highlights upcoming changes to Injustice 2

During the Injustice Watchtower stream on July 25, NetherRealm Studios unveiled changes that will be coming to Injustice 2.

For starters, not every character will receive alterations in the upcoming patch: Darkseid, Cyborg, Joker, Green Lantern, Harley Quinn, Blue Beetle, Firestorm, Scarecrow and Sub-Zero have no changes.

Big tweaks, meanwhile, are coming to Aquaman, Black Adam and Brainiac as the former two will lose some combos oppotunities—MB Tentacle Strike no longer launches and non-MB Black Magic no longer allows for combos—while Brainiac's character power has been revised to allow him to hold his trait in the new update. Small improvements and nerfs have also come to a host of other characters including Black Canary and Wonder Woman, who both received frame advantage buffs to certain strings, and Atrocitus, whose use of Dex-Starr will now spend the character power meter faster.

Readers can check out the Twitch archives with all the changes and a simplified change list gleaned from the stream after the jump. NetherRealm did not offer a date on the release of the patch or the official patch notes at this time.

'Execution Woes' unravels the patience needed to learn a new game

Guilty Gear player and commentator Sami "Samifish" Nash's ongoing journal dedicated to improving his own execution in fighting games has now taken a different turn as he explores a new title in Tekken 7.

Admittedly never having a lot of interest in the game before 2014, Nash has jumped into Tekken 7 and found that he was not exactly prepared for the different style and input handling the game has placed before him.

In this Execution Woes, Nash breaks down a combo for Leo, trying to better pace his inputs so that what he sees in a video can be what comes out on his own screen.

Nash's take is an interesting read for players who have problems starting a new game or just those wondering how other competitors look at system mechanics. Readers can check out the article at Medium.

Starfire lights up Injustice 2 in new gameplay trailer, more reveals soon

The official trailer for Starfire has been released, showing players what to expect from the character when she releases sometime in August 2017.

Starfire looks to fight mostly at distance, using beams as most of her offensive special attacks. The trailer also shows her use a torpedo move, the ability to fly and a slow-moving energy orb that she can pop with other energy attacks.

In a quick cameo, the video also shows what looks to be a Bizarro skin for Superman, complete with fire breath instead of air breath.

During the All Access event that premiered the Starfire trailer, Ed Boon said that NetherRealm is currently working on the trailer for the next three characters that will debut "very soon," and that the last character will get "the biggest wow of any character in the game."

Readers can check out the Starfire trailer after the jump.

New Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite trailer displays the power of mind, additional gameplay footage highlights added characters

The official trailer debuting the Mind stone and showcasing the returns of Haggar, Nemesis, Spider-Man and Frank West has been released along with extended footage of the characters in battle.

First up, the mind stone offer combo potential in two very different ways. The surge gives players a command grab that leaves opponents in a dizzy or stunned state, allowing a full combo after use. The storm ability fills the hyper gauge to maximum, allowing players access to as much meter as they might need.

Meanwhile, an additional 12 minutes of the new characters in action has also been made available by IGN, answering a few more questions about the returning fighters. Spider-Man does retain his Maximum Spider super and his new move from the trailer seems to be named Spider Cannon.

Both Haggar and Frank West have also receieved new moves, with Haggar now bringing a trusty barrel from Metro City that can both be thrown as a projectile or used as a shield to absorb one hit, and West showing off a dash attack wearing his Servbot helmet and the tripod originally shown in the new trailer.

Gamora is heavily featured in the new footage, as she shows off her myriad gun and sword attacks along with a super gives her access to a shadow double that mimics her moves.

Readers can check out both videos after the jump.

Special stream to reveal Injustice 2's Starfire coming July 21

The last Fighter Pack 1 character coming to Injustice 2 will be shown during a special presentation from San Diego Comic-Con 2017.

Starfire will be revealed during a special DC All Access stream with Ed Boon starting at 1 p.m. PDT on July 21, 2017. She is the final character in the first wave of DLC characters that started with Red Hood in June.

The news was first hinted at by Boon early in July, but the Injustice Twitter account confirmed it with a picture of Starfire and details of the upcoming stream.

Although Starfire will round out the first pack of DLC for Injustice 2, the June update to the title at first showed a total of nine additional character slots and Xbox recently confirmed that Black Manta will be one of those characters. It will be interesting to see if Boon reveals any details of fortcoming character packs during Comic-Con, or if for now Starfire is the only new information.

Spider-Man, Haggar, Frank West, Nemesis confirmed for MvCI

During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, four new characters for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

Spider-Man, Haggar, Frank West and Nemesis will all make their return from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to join the fray in Capcom's newest entry in the Versus series. While it seems like all four retain most of their moves from UMvC3—thanks to an Instagram video taken during the panel—, Frank West can now set up a tripod to take pictures for him and Spider-Man has both a new spring kick and a new super that may replace his classic Maximum Spider.

The newest build of MvCI will be playable on the show floor at Comic-Con starting on July 21, 2017. Readers can check out the Instagram video—as well as a more complete YouTube version—after the jump.

Black Manta revealed as Injustice 2 DLC character by Xbox ad

Although Injustice 2's June update left some players convinced they were going to be playing as one of Aquaman's classic villains in the future, Xbox Live has confirmed that Black Manta will be playable in the title.

A seemingly accidental ad on the Xbox Marketplace has revealed that players will be able to "Fight as Black Manta in Injustice 2" in the future.

The timing is confusing for Injustice fans, who haven't even received a trailer for the final character in Fighter Pack 1, Starfire, as this preview has made its appearance. That being said, NetherRealm's Ed Boon did allude to new information being unveiled at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2017, so it's possible some questions might be answered on July 20-23.

Cat's out of the bag: more details on Jubei's appearance in BBCF 2.0

Famitsu has a new article (scans courtesy of HDKirin) explaining the basic moves and abilities of Jubei as he appears in the upcoming BlazBlue Central Fiction 2.0 update.

According to translations by GREATFERMAN, Jubei is a small character that excels at speed. His drive, Shiranui, marks opponents and allows him to keep strong pressure. Jubei also has a slow-moving fireball and a slash attack with different enders. The character's biggest move of note, however, is his install super Fudou Sharenjin which powers up both his special moves and his drive for the remainder of the round.

According to Hiago, BBCF 2.0 will be a free update, but there is neither a release date nor a price for Jubei listed at this time.

Players will be able to sign up for beta starting on July 26, 2017, for either Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Bandai Namco has not stated how many players will be allowed in the beta or exactly how long it will last.
