Ver. 1.02 Update To Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate Released

An update for Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate has been issued to further aleviate some post-release concerns.

A majority of the notes found on this patch applies to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners of the game. While it doesn't change any of the major gameplay elements found in DOA5U, it improves some of the game's user interface including an improved matchmaking system. For those who downloaded the free to play version, Core Fighters, will be able to unlock costumes similar to the full version.

According to Team Ninja, the update will be available to PS3 players, depending on region, at different times. Xbox 360 owners might have to wait until the coming week for the update. You can find the patch notes to DOA5U after the jump!

Complete Dead Or Alive 5 Video Tutorial Series Now Available

Part 12 of the Dead Or Alive 5 tutorial by EmperorCow is now available for viewing.

Since this part, which emphasizes the tag system in DOA5, is now available to watch, the entirety of the video tutorial series is now available on YouTube! The tutorial features sections on the basic system, advance techniques, combos and how to take advantage of the levels with guest commentary from various DOA players including Master, Perfect Legend and Ryan Hart.

Archive Playlist Of Japanese Dead Or Alive 5 Official Tournament 2013

New Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate Trailer & Additional Videos Reveal Game Modes

Here is a set of new Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate videos featuring what will be in store when released.

The new trailer shows more footage of all the new added characters and stages featured in Ultimate as well as pre-order incentives in Japanese markets. The other new videos briefly go over the modes included such as a tutorial, survival and the seven vs seven team battle mode.

DOA5: Arcade Version Of Ultimate Announced

Tecmo Koei have announced Team Ninja's latest Dead or Alive game will be coming to the Japanese arcades after a multi-year absence.

Along with the full package and free to play editions on console, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will be arriving at arcades through Sega's ALL.Net P-ras MULTI Ver. 2, a digital download arcade service that features games such as Under Night In-Birth and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R.

This is the first Dead or Alive game to be playable in arcades in almost 14 years; the last being Dead or Alive 2 in 1999.

The arcade version of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will be arriving winter 2013 in Japan while both the full and free to play versions on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are still slated for Sep. 3, 2013.

DOA5: Episode Nine Of User-Made Game Tutorial, Focus On Advance Maneuvers

For those trying to learn Dead or Alive 5 or want a primer before the release of Ultimate, here is a tutorial video series with the latest episode featuring one of the series' best players.

The ninth episode of this tutorial-an ongoing series since December 2012-, focuses on performing special techniques such as fast backdash cancelling and cancelling move strings. This edition also features Perfect Legend of Team FNATIC explaining these special techniques.

E3 2013: Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate Trailer, Ninja Gaiden's Rachel As Playable Character

Tecmo Koei premiered a new trailer for Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate for E3 and shown off a new yet familiar character to the cast.

Ninja Gaiden supporting character Rachel will be joining the cast featured throughout the trailer. It also shows off a bit more of Leon who was also teased in previous trailers.

DOA5: Ultimate Dated For September 2013 Release

Tecmo Koei Games have announced the release date for the upcoming updated edition of Dead or Alive 5.

Dated for September 9, 2013 in North America, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will new stages, new characters including Momoji, Ein and Virtua Fighter's Jacky, and content featured in the PlayStation Vita release Dead or Alive 5 Plus.

DOA5: Series' Ein And Virtua Fighter's Jacky Added In Ultimate Cast

Two more character are added to the upcoming Dead or Alive 5: Ultimate including one that's "faster than lightning."

Series regular Hayate was originally introduced as Ein in Dead or Alive 2. Ein utilizes a similar karate style like Hitomi. Virtua Fighter character Jacky Bryant will be included in Ultimate so expect some familiar moves from his Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown moveset such as his lightning kicks appearing.

DOA5: Ultimate Trailer Uploaded, Leon Teased, Coming To North America And Europe

Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate has now receive a proper announcement with a trailer showing off some things included in this new expansion.

While Momoji from the Ninja Gaiden series was shown in a cinematic teaser trailer, this announcement trailer features the kunoichi at full force showing her various moves. Another aspect in the trailer is a new stage reminiscent of the bosses in the aforementioned modern Ninja Gaiden series. At the end shows off a silhouette of what can possibly be the return of Dead or Alive 3 fighter Leon.

DOA5: Ultimate Version Announced, Momiji As Additional Character

While originally teased, the next version of Dead or Alive 5 has been titled.

Dubbed "Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate," this update's only details only reveal that Ninja Gaiden's Momiji will be included as a character in the game. There are no other details in regards to any more additional characters or balance changes to the existing cast and/or game system.

DOA5: Console 1.03 Patch And More Plus Features Revealed

News coming out of Dead or Alive 5 and its Vita release Plus have been announced with improvements over the former and new features on the latter.

Among the changes on the console's version 1.03 update, DOA Extreme's Zack Island is now an available level to play in, the ability to upload replays to YouTube (PlayStation 3 only) and Facebook, and lowered the overall health for most of the modes. On Dead or Alive 5 Plus, this version will allow cross-platform play between PlayStation 3 users in full 60 frames per second, players can transfer costumes between both versions, and any unlockable content will be available on both versions.

DOA5: Special Version Coming To Vita

Tecmo-Koei announced that they will bring their latest Dead or Alive game to the PlayStation Vita handheld.

Subtitled Plus, this version of Dead or Alive 5 will utilize specific features on the Vita including touch-enabled move support and ad-hoc networking. Another addition includes first-person perspective support.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus will be available in North America in the first quarter of 2013.

DOA5: Official Japanese Tournament Series Beginning Next Week

Tecmo Koei is getting ready to launch their tournament series for Dead or Alive 5 throughout Japan.

The event will be on PlayStation 3 with players to bring their own controllers or sticks. The game is played in a one round format different from a common three round style with random stages.

There are five preliminary qualifiers throughout the nation. If you are in Kyoto, Fukuoka, Itami, or Tokyo and play DOA5, go make sure to attend one the respective qualifiers which are detailed after the jump. For the finals, all qualifying players will go all out in the Tecmo Koei headquarters in Shinjuku!

DOA5: Launch Swimsuit Downloadable Packs Now Available

For those who didn't preorder Dead or Alive 5 or get the Collector's Edition and wanted the swimsuit packs can now pay for it on Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Store.

They were categorized as the Bunny Swimwear and the Player's Swimwear packs that featured swimsuit outfits for most female characters in DOA5 including the latter available for Virtua Fighter characters Pai and Sarah. They can be paid in specific packs for three or four characters or paid as an entire set.
