We'd like to announce that SWBeta, from TYM, has rounded up some of the most creative combo video artist to date. To get them all together and hit the lab. And together, come up with the most amazing combo video, for MK9, the world has ever seen. ^_^

Mortal Kombat: "The Blind Man" Kenshi Tutorial by xxTeefxx

Mortal Kombat: Legacy - Episode 9: Cyrax & Sektor

Episode 9 of Mortal Kombat: Legacy is here, and this time the story centers around Cyrax and Sektor.  I am just so amazed at the sheer quality of these episodes.  Everything about this episode is top-notch.  The writing and directing are fantastic and the production values are positively through the roof.  I mean the special effects for the suits alone are unbelievably cool and the action sequence is crazy.  If you are a Mortal Kombat fan, this is a must-watch.

Mortal Kombat: Amazing Cyrax Combos and Bomb Resets by TONY-T

If you've been following Mortal Kombat, you've probably seen some of TONY-T's videos. This is his fourth Cyrax combo movie, which works on the current, EVO-standard patch of the game. Mortal Kombat: Freddy Krueger Extended Gameplay Trailer

In this extended cut of the Freddy Krueger trailer, we get to see much more of the maniac's moveset in action. He looks to have a lot of interesting tools, including a claw-from-the-ground launcher and a projectile that falls from the sky and stuns opponents. This is one DLC character you shouldn't sleep on!

Ed Boon Talks Freddy, DLC in PlayStation Blog Q&A

The PlayStation Blog has a Q&A with Mortal Kombat Producer Ed Boon focused on recent DLC. He discusses how Freddy Krueger was someone they had wanted to add for a long time and how they finally were able to. Boon also discusses why Kenshi is the lone returning Deadly Alliance character, and how the idea for Rain came to him.

At the Mortal Kombat San Diego Comic-Con panel, NetherRealm Studios announced that Freddy Krueger will be the fourth DLC character for Mortal Kombat. Yes, that Freddy Krueger. Nightmare on Elm Street! Hide yo' kids, hide yo wife, and, whatever you do, don't go to sleep!

The MKast - Series 2, Episode 5 (Rain)

A new MKast just hit the MKCommunityManager YouTube Channel, and this one goes over the new DLC character Rain. They detail how they went about redesigning his costume and things like that, but the most interesting part of this video is how they created all the sound effects. That sounds weird I know, I know, but just watch -- it's pretty cool!

Mortal Kombat: Avoiding the Puddle Podcast with Arturo and LI Joe

Over at AvoidingThePuddle, Aris hosted a podcast about the state of MK9 with two of the game's players, Arturo "Sabin" Sanchez and "iloveu" Joe Ciarmelli. The discussion covers the players' issues with the game, their thoughts on the top characters, and the game's future. While they all want the game to retain tournament viability, they see many obstacles that will need to be overcome before that can happen. It's a must-listen for MK fans and haters alike, if only for Joe's story about his dinner with NetherRealm staff.

Mortal Kombat: Rain Vignette, Jade & Kitana Klassic Costume Trailer

NetherRealm Studios reveals a bit of the purplest ninja's backstory in the latest DLC character vignette. As with the past DLC, two new klassic costumes are included free for all players when it launches on July 19. This time, the costumes are for female ninjas Jade and Kitana.

NetherRealm Studios has laid bare exactly what was changed in each patch and hotfix on the official Mortal Kombat forums. To view the site, you need to create an account, but we've included the full list of changes below. If you're like me, you may have had a hard time learning the game, because you were never sure what a character could do at any particular time. Having these notes should be extremely helpful for those of us trying to get into the game.

Mortal Kombat: Kenshi Day 2 Combos by Medina4Life

The second DLC character for Mortal Kombat, Kenshi, has been available on XBL Marketplace and PSN for a few days now and we are starting to see more awesome combo videos.  The two videos we have for you here, by Medina4Life, really stand out to me.  The first video shows several different combos, with notation so that you can try them on your own.  Some combos are even slowed down so you can see what is going on.  The second video is just as interesting if you are new to the character or just curious.  It features audio commentary, again by Medina4Life, giving his opinions about the pros and cons of the character. 

It's really good stuff, so it's worth checking out for sure.  Thanks to Test Your Might for the tip on these videos!

Mortal Kombat: WCG Fighter Club Event in NYC July 23-24

World Cyber Games is holding an MK tournament with $2,000 in prizes at the Samsung Experience in New York City later this month. The description on the WCG site makes it sound as if entry is free; there's just a $10 deposit required that will be refunded on the day of the tournament. Spectators are welcome and can stream monster it up on-site, watching all the action on a 184" sixteen-panel display.

All Mortal Kombat DLC Banned From EVO

A quick update for those of you entering Mortal Kombat at EVO2K11 this year: if you planned on using any of the DLC characters at the tournaments, fuggedaboutit! MrWizard tweeted that all Mortal Kombat 9 DLC is banned from the tournament, so this includes characters Skarlet, Kenshi and Rain, not to mention all the alternate costumes as well.

If you're wondering why this is the case, there have been a number of different bugs specifically tied to DLC items and there won't be adequate time to test the new characters to determine if they are broken before the tournament. Oh yeah, and if you haven't heard by now, Kratos is banned for obvious reasons as well.

Series 2, Episode 4 of the MKast is now available for your viewing pleasure, and it shows off the blind swordsman, Kenshi. See what went into the development of the character, who should be available for download today. Get an inside look at character art and rough models of his trademark moves.

Mortal Kombat: Skarlet Combo Tribute Goddess Of Blood by VanceShelton

This is a pretty cool Mortal Kombat combo video.  It really gives an idea of how brutal and effective Skarlet can be.  In the video you will see many high damage combos to give you ideas, all to a pretty cool musical choice. There are times when big combo hits or enders will be in time with the song. Very nice production values as well.  Do yourself a favor and check it out if you want to see a bit of Skarlet's combo potential or if you would just like to see her bounce, kick, and slice opponents from one end of the screen to the other.
