The guys over at Siliconera caught up with Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada during Comic-Con and he gave them a few clues as to who the next set of characters are in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. These hints are quite vague and don't really give anything away, but I suppose your guess is as good as mine. Who do you think they are?

Here is the Top 16 Payout Breakdown for the Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown EVO2012 Tournament

As many of you know, SEGA put together one hell of a tournament at EVO this year by pumping $15,000 into the pot. The payout was spread out quite generously though, as the top 16 placers ended up getting a piece of the pie. This pot bonus drew in players from all over the world and had all of us here in North America training like crazy as soon -- and even a bit before -- the game was officially released.

Senior Producer Frank Hom posted a look back at how Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown made it on the big stage at EVO. Everything from the Southtown Arcade Ranbats to the official Launch Party on Los Angels played a part in pushing the game to new players and long time fans alike.

With that, they posted the "leaderboards" from the EVO2012 tournament and it details what the players came away with when the dust settled.  You'll see that while international players took most of the cheese, there were still a few North American players holding it down as well. Check out the breakdown after the jump and read Frank's blog post by clicking here!

UMVC3: A Wesker Combo Video Worth Watching - Really!

A new Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 combo video surfaced recently for Wesker thanks to Resident Evil Rulz (yes it does) and who knew he had more going on under the hood besides ABCS, ABCS OTG Gun Shot? Seriously though, this is one combo video you wont to miss even if you play Wesker casually. It will really open your eyes as to what the character is capable of. Even long time Wesker players will probably find some new tech after watching! Check it out after the jump.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Online Play Features Training Mode Between Matches

Rip over at Level Up Your Game was able to get some more hands on time with the latest build of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 as San Diego Comic-Con and dug up a few new details about the game while he was there.

At this afterhours event, NAMCO had a number of consoles hooked up to a local network so players could check out the online portion of the game. With this being a local network, it's not the best representation of how the game will hold up in real world settings of course but it is worth nothing that they mentioned there was no noticeable lag under these conditions. That's a good start, I guess!

One interesting feature is that between matches the game will toss you into training mode so you can get your combos tight as possible before the next opponent arrives. As far as I know, UMVC3 is the only other game that has this feature.

Check out a few short preview clips after the jump!

New Screenshots for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver., Details on Netplay & Other Features

Capcom released a few screenshots today for the newly announced HD version of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and touch on some features included in the game as well. The screenshots showcase the artistic borders found for each characters on their respective side and give us another look at the updated graphics.

NEW JOJO'S SCREENSHOTS

They mention that the matchmaking system is similar to SSF4 and UMVC3's as you'll be able to choose your opponent based on location, skill and connection quality. Much like other fighting games, you'll also be able to rank up on the online leaderboards by collecting both Battle and Player Points as you get more matches under your belt.

There will be the ability to create 8-player lobbies that include a spectating feature as well. You can also save and share your replays online too though it's not clear if you can save local replays or only those matches that you play online.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. comes out August 21st for $19.99 on both XBLA and PSN.

TTT2: Forget About the Rap Music, it's All About Bikinis and Girl Power in the Latest set of Trailers

It's no secret that NAMCO BANDAI really knows their demographic, and with the Snoop Dogg rap music video out of the way, the next logical step was to announce that a set of over 100 DLC bikinis will be available for Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Cool your eSports jets and hold off on calling Kotaku for just one moment though! These costumes don't objectify your wave-dashing waifu's as much as you may think as the bundle will not only include swimsuits for the ladies but the male characters (and Kuma) as well. These outfits are available as a pre-order bonus at the moment but, much like other TTT2 DLC, will be free later on after launch.

Check out the new trailer showcasing these outfits not to mention a "Girl Power" (not sure what the point of this one was) trailer that was released during SDCC over the weekend after the jump!

SDCC: Capcom's Street Fighter Chess Set Can Be Yours for Only $400

I am a huge scrub when it comes to the game of chess but boy do I love playing it when I get the chance. This Street Fighter set from Capcom (via Destructoid) that appeared at San Diego Comic-Con would probably bring me to play it more if the price tag wasn't so high! For four hundred bucks this can be yours so if you're a die-hard chess and Street Fighter fan it might be worth it -- maybe.

The set appears to be very detailed as the black pieces have "bad guy" themed pieces with Shadowloo skulls as the pawns while the white pieces have all the "good guys" with Ryu gloves as the pawns, Chun-Li as the Queen --- so on and so forth.

Some of this stuff is a little difficult to explain so just watch the video!

Capcom Wants to Fix the Time Over Problem in Street FIghter x Tekken, Here's How

Eventhubs recently transcribed a lengthy interview with Capcom's Tomoaki Ayano that took place at San Diego Comic-Con. On stream he discussed many of the changes players can expect in the upcoming July 31st patch. He mentioned there are changes and tweaks to every character in the game and many adjustments to the auto-block and auto-tech gems to make them much more fair. You will be able to read about all the character changes in the coming weeks via Capcom Unity.

Another interesting note is that they are aware of the Time Over problem found in the game and are currently looking at a few whats to fix this issue. While nothing is set in stone, this is what they have in mind:

  • Reduce the rate in which grey life recovers.
  • Increase overall damage.
  • Slow down the in-game timer.

Personally, I hope they increase the overall damage in the game. I feel this would be the best way to fix the Time Over issue and would add more intensity to the fights as well.

What do you think? Are these valid ways to fix this problem or do you have other ideas on how to resolve the issue? Hit the comments with your thoughts!
