Stance YRC lets Leo reflect projectiles, attack in Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2

A newly uncovered trick gives Leo a way to attack while still using the properties of stance counter.

According to videos, whenever Leo YRCs or PRCs his counter out of backturn stance the effect stays with him for a short amount of time. This counters any projectile that comes into contact with him, but neither triggers the counter animation nor seems to have any effect on strikes.

Players can check out a couple more example videos after the jump.

Alex Myers parts ways with Ronin Esports

Alex Myers is longer a part of the Ronin Esports team due the expiration of his contract and his decision to not make a new deal.

Ronin and Myers both confirmed the news early on May 12, with Myers saying, "I want to thank [Ronin] for the opportunities they've given me this year. I wish you the best."

Myers' departure was at first seen as the competitor being released, but Myers himself later clarified the situation saying, "Hey guys, thanks for all the concern, but I'm ok, my contract just expired and I decided not to renew."

Ronin first added Myers to its roster in May 2016, and he was the team's only fighting game player.

Mr. Freeze, Vixen, Jay Garrick, Grid join Injustice 2 as premier skins

Four more DC characters have been unearthed as part of the Injustice 2 roster thanks to premier skins.

Mr. Freeze, Vixen, Jay Garrick and Grid have all been discovered in the game's assets by players who already have a copy in their hands. While players knew about Reverse Flash, John Stewart and Power Girl because of the game's Ultimate Edition, these skins leave fans wondering how many more characters will be added to the game strictly in the form of skins.

Some images of the characters have been taken down on sites including Twitter and Test Your Might, but Shoryuken still has pictures up at this time.

Tekken 7 will offer legacy controller support

The upcoming edition of Tekken will allow players to use controllers from the previous PlayStation generation.

Tekken Project leader Katsuhiro Harada confirmed on Twitter that Tekken 7 will offer support for PlayStation 3 sticks, although he has not stated whether it is through the Lab Zero driver or Bandai Namco has created its own method.

Tekken 7 is the latest fighting game—alongside Skullgirls, Street Fighter V, Guilty Gear Xrd and more—to offer support for older controllers, which allows players the ability to play PS4 titles without having to purchase a brand new stick.

Tekken 7 comes home to PlayStation 4 on June 2, 2017.

Fable eSports signs Kizzie Kay, Suicune Master

Fable eSports has added two more members to its roster with the signings of Keenan "Kizzie Kay" Kizzie and Christian "Suicune Master" Patierno.

The acquisitions come with Kizzie on a streak of tournament victories, winning both BlazBlue Central Fiction and Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- at Northwest Majors, NorCal Regionals and Texas Showdown in 2017. He has also made high placings at other majors in 2016 and 2017, along with many top three finishes at Wednesday Night Fights in Southern California.

In a statement to IPLAYWINNER, Kizzie said that signing to Fable ended "the first chapter of my journey" in competitive fighting games but that now he wants to work "10 times harder than I did in chapter one" to represent the Fable brand.

Patierno, for his part, is a storied player in the Pokkén scene. He is the 2016 Pokkén Tournament national champion in the Masters Division, won CEO 2016, placed fifth at Evolution 2016 and took fourth at Final Round XX in March 2017. He comes off a second place finish in Pokkén at the recent Dreamhack Austin.

Combo Breaker 2017 will feature Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2

Combo Breaker has decided that it will feature Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 as its official tournament on the day of the game's full release.

At the end of April, organizers from Combo Breaker sent an email to players registered for the Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- tournament at the event asking them if they would prefer to play on the new version of the game, even though it is currently only available as a PlayStation Plus demo for PS4 users and will not release until the first day of the tournament.

The players apparently responded with an affirmative, and the official Combo Breaker website says organizers found "many [local promoters] were immediately switching to the latest version of the game."

For those players who are not satisfied with this change, they can contact the Combo Breaker staff by emailing combobreakerevent@gmail.com. Combo Breaker 2017 takes place May 26-28 in St. Charles, Illinois.

New trailer officially reveals Ed for Street Fighter V

Ed has officially been revealed for Street Fighter V, as Capcom released the character's offcial trailer and information about his V abilities.

Ed's V-Skill is Psycho Snatcher, which almost functions as a grappling hook and either pulls himself to opponents or pulls him to them depending on how long it is charged. His V-Trigger is Psycho Cannon, which shoots a slow-moving, multihit fireball out in front of him.

Ed's special moves include a dashing uppercut that almost resembles Balrog's and move that seems to function like a dragon punch. His moves also "have simple inputs; they only require simultaneous button presses, repeatedly pressing a button, or holding down a button." Readers can check out the trailer after the jump.

Ed's Street Fighter V appearance unveiled in leaked images

The PlayStation Store had already revealed Ed as Season 2 DLC in Street Fighter V, and now thanks to Capcom players know how he will look as a playable character.

Posters on NeoGaf discovered working links—now disabled—on the Capcom website leading to images of the character dressed in Shadowloo regalia. While this does not fully confirm that Ed will be revealed on May 8 as the next Season 2 character, it would now be surprising if it is not Ed.

Readers can expect a reveal post and small character breakdown of the next fighter from Capcom on Monday.

Sub-Zero, Starfire, Red Hood are Injustice 2's first three DLC fighters

A new trailer has revealed the identities of the first three additional fighters in Injustice 2, and also offers hints at characters who may be joining the title in the future.

KidViper signs with Fable eSports, talks about recent win and more

Following his win at Dreamhack Austin 2017, Jason "KidViper" Srouji has been picked up by Fable eSports.

The announcement was made May 1, only days after Srouji defeated Ryo "Dogura" Nozaki to win the Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- tournament at the event. Since joining the competitive Guilty Gear scene, KV has won or placed highly at numerous events across the U.S.

KV's signing is part of a greater awareness of airdash or "anime" games by the larger esports world, as players such as SuperKawaiiDesuMarlinPie and Bears have been acquired by teams in the last 12 months.

Additionally, KV recently joined Angelo "TheC0r" DeGrandis on "PNW Power Hour" to talk about his win, switching from Elphelt to Johnny, the current Guilty Gear scene and more. Readers can check out the Twitch archive of that conversation after the jump.

Injustice 2 DLC news 'coming soon,' Ed Boon dropping hints?

Players will soon get info on Injustice 2's upcoming downloadable content, and it's possible Ed Boon is already alluding to details about it.

Boon, creator of Mortal Kombat and a creative director at NetherRealm Studios, loves to make hints about upcoming content or surprises in his tweets and has created anticipation for news about the Injustice DLC with a tweet on May 2:

For those wondering or asking... Injustice 2 DLC info coming soon. We suspect you will like what you hear!

The tweet is accompanied by a image of late night talk show host Conan O'Brien and his co-host Andy Richter. Is Boon hinting at an addition of Conan the Barbarian, or possibly fellow redhead Starfire? Is he just messing with his fanbase? For now, it's too hard to tell.

Eliza steps out of the darkness with gameplay on "Tekken Talk"

A recent Bandai Namco stream delivered more information about the female vampire who will serve as Tekken 7's preorder bonus character.

Mark "MarkMan" Julio and Maximilian joined Bandai Namco's Dalton Link to explore the character in depth during "Tekken Talk" and revealed that Eliza will have a super meter much like Akuma in T7.

Eliza will build this meter either through certain throws, which show the vampire biting foes, or by going into her sleep stance. While in sleep stance, Eliza slowly gains meter but can do nothing else and has some recovery before being able to act again. She can use her meter to create enhanced versions of some of her moves, create a super fireball or cancel some moves to continue pressure.

The stream also showed off more of the upcoming game's modes, including Story Mode, Jukebox, Gallery and Treasure Battle. Readers can check out the Twitch archive after the jump, with Eliza's gameplay coming between 16 and 32 minutes in the broadcast.
