King of Fighters XIV patch fixes bugs, adds balance changes

Version 2.01 has arrived for KOF XIV and while it includes corrections to many moves that acted improperly, it also comes with several tweaks to character performance.

For starters, a number of bugs in KOF XIV have been corrected, including an error that caused the backdash of several characters to have erratic hurtboxes, sometimes even evading lows on recovery. Another fix removed Rock Howard's ex command grab loop by removing the ability to grab characters out of the air.

Some characters, however, had tweaks to alter options in their gameplan. For example, Vanessa's ex parrying puncher now has less ability to extend combos, most likely in hopes of removing her stun combo; Sylvie Paula Paula's max Paula Experiment now does less damage and has less "follow-up options"; and Hein's jumping kick can now be cancelled into special moves.

For the full list of changes, players can head to SNK's official website.

Senko no Ronde 2 coming summer 2017 to PC, PS4

G.rev's combination of a shoot-em-up (shmup) and fighter is receiving a numbered sequel.

Originally released in Japanese arcades in 2005, Senko no Ronde featured combat that seems reminiscent of a 2-D version of Gundam Versus or Virtual On. The game heavily featured projectile-based combat and players could fill the screen with bullets and lasers like in many modern shmups.

Senko no Ronde received a port to the Xbox 360 and was released as Wartech: Senko no Ronde in North America in 2007.

Degica Games has released a teaser for the game, which will be coming to both the PlayStation 4 and Steam platforms. Readers can check it out after the jump.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite footage shows gem, character gameplay

Several minutes of gameplay from Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite footage has spilled out into the internet, bringing with it a small sample of the game's system mechanics.

Starting with gems, it seems as if they possess two abilities similar to the V System in Street Fighter V. Each gem grants a normal special ability—the time gem seems to offer a quick dash—and a meter that builds while taking damage. The character can then activate that meter like X-Factor in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to have a great advantage for a limited time. While the system is reminiscent of the aforementioned titles, it should also be noted that the gem meter currently resembles Street Fighter IV's Ultra meter.

Other noticeable features include the ability to spend two meters and tag in your reserve character while your active character is getting comboed. This take on a burst or Mega Crash mechanic is sure to create for some interesting gameplay interactions. The game also seems to have round counters, meaning it would be the first Capcom tag game with a round system. Lastly, when defeated character bodies remain on the screen leading some players to believe there may be revival mechanics coming into play.

Players can make their own assumptions when checking out the footage after the jump.
