Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- has three unlockable characters on console

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- is coming to home consoles in either late May or early June, depending on where players live, and one of the few remaining questions is about the game's number of playable characters. Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- arrived with three console-only characters, and if pictures are any indication so will -Revelator-.

Rice Digital recently got some game time with a pre-release copy of the PlayStation 4 copy of -Revelator-, and the character select screen reveals three locked icons in addition to the already playable Jack-O, Johhny and Jam. Two of those boxes will likely be the recently unveiled Kum Haehyun and character vote winner Dizzy, but that leaves one more mystery DLC.

Could it be the first playable appearance of Raven, or another returning character like Bridget? Nothing is known at this time, and with more than three months until the -Revelator- console release there is plenty of time for Arc System Works to tease new additions.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- Coming to the US in Spring 2016

U.S. players will get their hands on the newest version of Guilty Gear early in 2016, according to the game's website. This will put the title in the same release window as its Japanese version.

For those who remember the console release of Xrd, the launch dates for Japan and the U.S. were only weeks apart, so it will be interesting to see if that again will be the idea. The early release also means the game will be available for Evolution 2016 if the organizers want to use -Revelator-.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- will be available for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

This newest version of -Revelator- does not make many alterations to existing general gameplay, but new characters Johnny and Jam received several changes to tweak their balance with respect to the rest of the cast.

For the official list of changes—in Japanese—head to ASW's official website. Meanwhile, Twitter user Fahadouken is working on translating the changes into English and Brett did a quick write-up specifically on Jam.

Arc System Works Releases Character Colors, More for BBCF

When the official website for BlazBlue Central Fiction opened, there was a tab marked "Special" that was not a working link to any other page.

However, that tab is now live and it reveals a link to download ASW's official "BlazBlue content kit" for the upcoming game.

The zip file contains several profile images and banners for each character, their emblems, stage art and sprites showing off each of the possible palettes for each fighter in BBCF.

Overall, it's a pretty cool offering for fans of the series who have wanted to get their hands on official art without having to go the extra length to pull images from the game.

The content kit can be found on BBCF's official website.

Arc System Works Reveals Possible Characters for Xrd Vote

After announcing a poll that will decide which character should be added to Guilty Gear Xrd, Arc System Works has now revealed the characters that will be possible for players to choose.

While the field is not wide open to allowing characters from other franchises or just anyone in the Guilty Gear universe, ASW has provided a large field of entrants for players to choose from. They are:

A.B.A, Izuna, Valentine, Kliff Undersn, Zappa, Justice, Holy Order Sol, Dizzy, Testament, Dr. Paradigm, Baiken, Fanny, Bridget, Anji Mito, Raven and Robo-Ky

While some candidates are not as widely known as others—Fanny appeared in Guilty Gear Petit, a game released only on WonderSwan—there is definitely a variety from which to choose. As stated originally, only players of the arcade version of Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator will be able to vote, as it will require in-game currency. ASW also has yet to reveal the times and dates of the election, only saying they will be released later.

Arc System Works to Hold Vote for Next Xrd Character

During the release stream of Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, ASW revealed that the company will be holding a vote to see what character it will add to the Xrd franchise next.

Players will seemingly be able to vote by completing certain game modes in the Revelator arcade game, but the exact rules and details of the vote were not announced during the stream.

As the vote is only taking place within the arcade game (as of this time), it looks like regions outside Japan will have little to no say in which character returns to the franchise.
