Cheats and Unlocks
UNLOCKING CHARACTERS:
- Get the endings for three separate Capcom characters in Arcade Mode.
- Get the endings for six separate Capcom characters in Arcade Mode.
- Get the endings for three separate Tatsunoko characters in Arcade Mode.
- Get the endings for six separate Tatsunoko characters in Arcade Mode.
- Get Frank West, Zero, Joe the Condor, and Tekkaman Blade's endings in Arcade Mode.
SUGGESTED METHOD FOR BEATING ARCADE MODE
Of course, like the title says, this is merley a suggestion, but if you are new to the game and trying to grind through the game quickly to unlock all the characters, this is a fairly quick and easy way to do so.
Team: Ryu/Anyone you need to beat the game with.
Game Settings: Easiest Difficulty, Full Hyper Meter
The computer, (especially the last boss Yami) has a real hard time dealing with projectiles so Ryu's Fireball and Shinkuu Hadouken come in very handy. Against Gold Lightan, PTX 40A and the final Boss, using projectiles along with Shinkuu Hadouken is probably the easiest way to get past them (or in the case of the last boss, Yami, get him down to his last sliver of health).
Against everyone else, he has some very easy combos that do a nice chunk of damage to clear each stage with. Although Ryu has some fairly damaging combos which you can read about on our Ryu guide, Crouching Medium, Crouching Hard, Forward and Hard cancel into Hurricane kick, cancel into Shinkuu Hadouken works from all areas of the screen and is real easy to pull off to make quick work of your opponents. Of course you can opt to just throw out Shinkuu Hadouken until you are out of Hyper Meter, but this simple combo will not only help you get a sense of the combo system in TVC, it will also destroy the CPU much quicker.
Once you make it to the last boss Yami, simply chuck Hadoukens or fire off Shinkuu Hadouken. If you get pushed to the corner, Super Jump and Air Dash to the other side. Rinse and repeat this process till you have him down to about 25% life. From there swap out with your partner and have them do their Hyper Combo and it's a wrap!
UNLOCKING CHARACTER COLORS
Third Color: Clear Stage 4 (Giant Opponent) of Arcade Mode. Whichever character finishes him will get Third Color Unlock. You can then purchase in Shop.
Fourth Color: Clear Stage 8 (Final Boss: Yomi) of Arcade Mode. Whichever character finishes him will get the Fourth Color Unlock. You can then purchase in Shop.
UNLOCKING SPECIAL ILLUSTRATION #2
Beat Survival Mode to Unlock. Purchase in Shop.
UNLOCKING PLAYER ICONS
Beat the Arcade Mode with a character. You will unlock a Player Icon for that character to use in Player Setting.
During the game's ending credits, you can opt to play a mini-game as the credits roll. You control a three-man bike with Doronjo and her two henchmen as you jump through hills, avoiding pits.
You can actually jump through the credits as they scroll through from left to right, seemingly collecting letters as you jump through them. You will notice that some of the letters are yellow. Collect all of these letters through the entire credits and it will spell "THANK YOU FOR PLAYING". At the end it will display this message, with any letters that you missed being also missing during this message. Collect them all and you will unlock the mini-game.
Jumping through the regular letters gives you bonus Zenny, the game's currency. It is a great way to get extra money to buy items in the game's store, so it is worthwhile to jump through as many letters as you can as you play.
