Mortal Kombat: Kurtis Stryker - Brutal Justice

NetherRealm Studios has released another character bio video.  This one is called Brutal Justice, and it features Stryker!  Like previous videos, it gives nice background on the character.  As a bonus though, it has gameplay footage of Stryker pulling off some nice combos.  He's a bad-***!

Take a look after the break!

MORTAL KOMBAT HAS ARRIVED!

This is the first Mortal Kombat game that I have been excited about since the MK2-3 days, and today it is officially on store shelves!  I'm sure that I'm not the only one!

We have been putting together plans for IPW content related to the game, so be sure to keep a look out for that as it comes online.  We also expect the usual creative outpouring of articles and vids from the community, so we'll be pointing all that cool stuff out to you as it comes to our attention.

After you get to play around with the game and explore what it has to offer, feel free to stop by and share what you think of the game!  We'd love to find out how you are enjoying the experience so far.

New Mortal Kombat Cyber Sub-Zero Combo Video

If you think Cyber Sub-Zero might end up being nothing more than a gimmick character in Mortal Kombat, you'll want to check out this new combo video sent over to us by Victor which will most likely change your mind. He shows a few basic set ups then gets into some more difficult combos a little later on, giving us a good idea of what Cyber Sub-Zero is capable of.

Mortal Kombat: REO vs Dark Rob

Quite a few people from within the community were able to pick up their copy of Mortal Kombat early. You may have caught a few videos on YouTube and streams as a result, but the level of play hasn't been particularly high - the game is new, after all. Fortunately, REO and Dark Rob have been hard at work in the lab getting their game up, and the result is some of the highest level MK matches we've seen so far.

If you'd like to get a general idea of how Mortal Kombat will look at higher levels of play, you'll want to see this.

38 Minutes of Mortal Kombat Footage from Machinima

If you're like me and completely missed the boat on Machinima's Mortal Kombat live stream a couple days back, Machinima uploaded a whopping 38 minutes worth of footage recorded from the livestream. The video shows a number of things we haven't seen very much of in the past, including Test Your Luck mode and Zombie mode.

If you'd like to go into Mortal Kombat fresh when the game launches on April 19, you'll probably want to avoid this one. Otherwise, enjoy a pretty big dose of Mortal Kombat!

Mortal Kombat: Shang Tsung Gameplay Trailer

Mortal Kombat: King of the Hill Online Mode Revealed

IGN posted the reveal trailer for one of Mortal Kombat's premier online modes, King of the Hill. The mode seems to act similarly to SSF4's endless lobby, but with a very interesting and creative twist. People in the "crowd" spectating the matches can perform various actions using their avatars - including throwing a tomato at the screen - and even rate the match at the end.

The video outlines several of the things your avatar can do when spectating, but true to MK fashion, NetherRealm teases at a few hidden things as well. If you'd like to see how it works in action, check out the video below and then let us know what you think about it.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Episode 1 (A New Live-Action Web Series)

The first episode of Mortal Kombat Legacy is finally here!  This is a live-action web series presented by Machinima and Warner Bros.  The first episode features Jax, Striker, Sonya Blade and Kano.

I am really impressed by this. The production values are excellent as is the voice acting. It's got a lot going for it and I can't wait to see where it goes.

In Depth with the Mortal Kombat Fight Stick

PDPCandace posted a video on YouTube that takes a pretty in-depth look at PDP's Mortal Kombat 'Fight Stick'. As you'll see in the video, PDP Candace and Gerry block go over the features of the stick, from the authentic Suzo-Happ parts, all the way down to the arcade-authentic material used for the box.

Also, the two give the lowdown on PDP's upcoming Mortal Kombat tournament to be held in Las Vegas on May 14-15. If you'd like to get a good look at the MK stick and learn a thing or two about PDP's tournament in the process, give this a look.

Mortal Kombat: Shang Tsung Character Vignette

The next character vignette trailer for Mortal Kombat was released by GameSpot this morning. This one focuses on the story for everyone's favorite soul-stealing sorceror, Shang Tsung. As was the case with all of the other character vignettes, there's not a whole lot of gameplay in this one, but a full-on gameplay trailer for Shang Tsung should be just around the corner.

Mortal Kombat: 'Fight Dirty' Starring Johnny Cage

NetherRealm released what is possibly the most entertaining character story video yet. Beyond covering a bit of Johnny Cage's story, the video has a pretty good amount of gameplay and is all set to the tone of a cheesy 90s action movie trailer. It also happens to be one of the closest glimpses of the game's story mode so far, so check it out when you have a minute!
