Teching a throw is simply the act of pressing throw at the same time your opponent does. This of course has different properties in different games. For instance, in Street Fighter 4 when you tech a throw you will bounce off the opponent and take no damage. In some other games however, like Street Fighter II, when you tech a throw, you will still take damage but you will recover in a better positon and the damage is less than it would be if you did not tech the throw.
