Super Desperation Radio Episode 334 Archive Online

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

Super Desperation Radio opened with talk of the recent Mastercup 7 Tekken tournament in Japan. Several of the cast managed to catch pieces of the show and its great high-level play, but the more than 15 hours of continuous action were too much for any one person at SDR to watch in one sitting.

Talk then moved to 4Gamer's Guilty Gear Xrd wiki and how experienced players can use it—even with poor Google translation—to find out what the new game will have in store for them when it releases next month.

Lastly, the conversation moved to 37 Reloaded and the question about whether the various tournaments will live up to expectations, or if competitors will be out of practice.

Super Desperation Radio is live every Monday at 6:30 p.m. PST on Twitch and YouTube.

Street Fighter EX2+ Corner Cross-Up Setups by Nerdjosh

Nerdjosh has created a short video that details some of the corner setups that players can create in SFEX2+.

According to Nerdjosh, normally it is impossible for players to cross up an opponent holding back in the corner, but these examples show how players can get around that protection to create great corner pressure and mixups.

The video contains setups for M. Bison, Sagat, Pullum and Darun.

Guilty Gear Xrd Character Guides, Frame Data by 4Gamer

Japan's 4Gamer has created its own Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- wiki, complete with breakdowns of each character in the game. The character pages have basic information, such as move lists and biographies, but also show the ways a character's normals can chain—in GG terms, gatling—and include combo videos with slow motion replays in case viewers could not see the moves used in regular speed.

The biggest thing the 4Gamer site offers to Guilty Gear veterans, however, is the inclusion of frame data for each of the characters in the arcade version of Guilty Gear Xrd.

While the entire wiki is in Japanese, the site offers a starting resource for U.S. Gears players who are already thinking about Dec. 16.

Super Desperation Radio Episode 333 Archive Online

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

Twitch's new rules regarding what streamers can and cannot wear opened SDR, as the cast discussed Twitch's conduct policy and its sometimes apparent lack of enforcement.

Staying on the topic of stream behavior, the conversation moved to the recent grudge matches at Wednesday Night Fights and the lost art of trash talk. The crew made it a point to note that there are always lines players and spectators should not cross when simply trying to get under another competitor's skin.

Lastly, SDR talked about the forthcoming NEC, mentioning the KOFXIII tournament and the Japanese competitors showing up for airdash titles.

Super Desperation Radio is live every Monday at 6:30 p.m. PST on Twitch and YouTube.

Or at least that is what a lot of people would have readers believe.

Twitch Rules of Conduct Updated, Code of Dress Clarified

Game streaming platform Twitch has updated its Rules of Conduct, focusing on the type of clothing that will be allowed on streams starting on Oct. 27, 2014. The policy now reads:

Wearing no clothing or sexually suggestive clothing - including lingerie, swimsuits, pasties, and undergarments - is prohibited, as well as any full nude torsos*, which applies to both male and female broadcasters. You may have a great six-pack, but that's better shared on the beach during a 2-on-2 volleyball game blasting "Playing with the Boys."

* If it's unbearably hot where you are, and you happen to have your shirt off (guys) or a bikini top (grills), then just crop the webcam to your face. Problem solved.

We sell t-shirts, and those are always acceptable. #Kappa

Violations of the new policy will result in channel or account suspension.

Super Desperation Radio Episode 332 Archive Online

The latest episode of Super Desperation Radio is now available for watching on IPLAYWINNER'S YouTube channel.

Capcom Cup, Guilty Gear Xrd and possible Evo games were up for discussion as SDR returned from its one-week hiatus.

With VIP packages and general admission seats now available, the cast wondered what the final schedule for Capcom Cup would look like when the event takes place on Dec. 13.

The conversation then moved to Guilty Gear Xrd, and the game's recently released demo and U.S. street date of Dec. 16. Ayaikun talked about her recent experiences playing the title and how it is one of the most beautiful games she's ever seen in motion.

Lastly, the question of the Evo 2015 lineup was brought up and no one was really sure how it will shake out. Everyone agreed 2015 will be the first year multiple airdash games should make it onto the roster, but nothing is a sure bet at this point.

Killer Instinct Season 2 Starts Oct. 15, will add Cinder, Riptor

While U.S. Killer Instinct players have gotten a preview of the new balance and content coming in the new season of KI, the rest of the world will get its hands on TJ Combo and Maya on Oct. 15. In a new season 2 trailer from IGN, the team at Iron Galaxy also teases eight new characters through shadowy silhouettes.

The good news for fans of the Killer Instinct series is that Riptor and Cinder are definitely two of those characters, as confirmed by Microsoft. The latest season will also include a graphical boost from 720p to 900p resolution.

DOA 5 Ultimate Celebrates Halloween with New Costumes

Halloween is the time of year when many people take the time to dress up, and for another year the cast of Dead of Alive 5 Ultimate is no exception. Continuing the tradition from 2013, DOA5U is again adding a batch of costumes so that its characters wouldn't feel out of place at a masquerade.

The outfits this year are pulled from the winners of a fan design contest, and show a range Halloween favorites: skeletons, werewolves, pirates, devils and angels. There are even a few off-the-wall costumes as well.

The costumes release Oct. 14 in Japan for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. There is no date for a U.S. release yet, but since last year's costumes made it to the West there's a good chance they will show up sooner than later.

Check out the release video after the jump.

Take a Walk through Galloping Ghost Arcade

Brookfield, Illinois' Galloping Ghost Arcade has become one of the premier places to play fighting games in the Chicago area, with many NetherRealms' players adopting the team name GGA when they participate in national tournaments.

However, GGA is more than just a fighting game location; it also houses more than 400 modern and classic arcade machines, normally in their original cabinets. GGA even houses rarities like the unreleased Primal Rage 2 and a Mortal Kombat 3 prototype.

During a 20-minute walk around the arcade, owner "Doc" Mack takes viewers through the whole arcade, showing new machines or titles that have been put back into original dedicated cabinets. He also shows off several new parts of the arcade—separate areas for driving and shoot-em-up games, and a full-time pinball section—that have been added thanks to a recent fundraising effort.

3DS Limitations Forced Sheik to be Separate Character

Many players were already let down by the news that the Ice Climbers will not be in Super Smash Bros. because of the 3DS's hardware limitations, but it seems that they were not the only characters affected by the power of Nintendo's handheld. In an interview with Famitsu (via Siliconera), Masahiro Sakurai said those limitations also caused Sheik and Zelda to be two separate characters in the upcoming title.

"It’s basically due to the 3DS’ limitations," he said. "It was impossible to have both characters exist together [as one] on 3DS." However, Sakurai also said that perhaps it was not so bad, as "transforming characters had the drawback of ambiguous tactics and such, and I believe that they have become more fresh now."

For now, it's hard to say whether this change will have a positive or negative impact on the strength of both characters, but it has certainly shaken up the roster going into the new games.

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS launches Oct. 3.
