Injustice: Killer Croc, The Penguin, And The Riddler Featured In Latest Screenshot

Ed Boon over at Netherrealm Studios just posted a new screenshot for Injustice: Gods Among Us with some familiar ambiguity for those who played Batman's most recent and popular video game adventures.

NEW INJUSTICE SCREENSHOT WITH BATMAN: ARKHAM SERIES REFERENCE SCREENSHOTS

Boon tweeted "What's this? Killer Croc? Riddler? Penguin?" with a screenshot with these characters. Whether or not they are playable is up in the air but for those who played Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City can identify is that the level as well as the character models of these D.C. villains seem to come out of these two games.

We will probably hear more in the coming future in regards to these characters. But in the meantime, you can check out the screenshot gallery with comparison shots of the characters.

Like many other characters such as Superman and Batman, it appears Nightwing is decked out with a light-armor outfit to fit to look and feel of the game. Judging from yesterday's previews and these screenshots, it looks like his staff will be a big part of his fighting style as well.

SDCC: Nightwing and Cyborg Join Injustice: Gods Among Us Roster

A bit of news is trickling out of San Diego Comic-Con as Ed Boon just announced via Twitter that both Nightwing (aka EMP Dick Grayson) and Cyborg will be joining the Injustice: Gods Among Us roster.

While official screenshots and other media have yet to be released, you can check out some grainy photos over at Gaming Everything and a short preview from The Verge

I'm not much of a comic buff so I can't say I am that hype for either character, but maybe I'll change my mind once I see them in action. What do you think? Have you been waiting on either of these guys to join the roster or still holding out for other additions?

Injustice: Gods Among Us to Have Improved Netcode Over MK9, No More Block Button

The MK diehards at Test Your Might have been hard at work finding every detail possible surrounding NetherRealm's DC fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us. NetherRealm senior producer Adam Urbano tweeted that the game's netcode has been worked on from day 1 to avoid the initial roadblocks of Mortal Kombat 9's early days. He also noted that much of the graphics code from MK9 has been enhanced for the new game.

Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann made an interesting discovery while playing the game, as he tweeted that the game will have a hold-back-to-block mechanic. This is a major departure from the standard Mortal Kombat control scheme, and could end up having a huge affect on gameplay.

Lastly, G4TV has a new interview with Ed Boon, where he shows off some more gameplay and notes that the character roster will likely reach the 20's.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Designed with EVO in Mind & Dev Team has Tournament Players, Says Ed Boon

I don't think that many will argue that the tournament scene, and how big that audience is getting thanks to social media and live streaming, has a tremendous impact on the success of a modern fighting game.  So it's little surprise when NetherRealm Studios, the developer behind the recently announced 3D fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us, publicly states that the game is being developed with features aimed at EVO.  NRS' Ed Boon has said so in a recent preview with Kotaku.   In addition, Ed says that there tournament players that are on the development team as well.

Mortal Kombat, despite having some problems early on with online play and DLC costumes, turned out amazingly well and these kinds of statements bode well for this new game.  Check out the quote below or head to Kotaku for their preview.
