Leo introductory guide by T5M7, translations by Greatfernman

Koichi has created another beginner's guide for a character in Guilty Gear Xrd, this time tapping T5M7—Tomo—to help explain Leo.

As with the primer for Zato-1, the Leo video is 30 minutes in length and goes over Leo's important normals, basic combos and setups. Greatfernman has provided translations for much of what is talked about on Twitlonger.

Tomo sums up his thoughts on Leo, saying: [His] combos are easy, but how to properly use his moves and the situational awareness required is what's most difficult about him, and also what's the most interesting about him. In the end, he's very RPS, so he's probably not suitable for people who want to properly play fighting games."

The video can be found at Openrec.tv.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- story character Kum Haehyun added to playable cast

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- will have one unexpected character added to the existing cast.

A manly shell controlled by a woman, Kum Haehyun was previously shown in the arcade story mode of -Revelator- for various characters.

A breakdown of Kum Haehyun will be available in the Jan. 21 issue of Famitsu. While the preview of the character shows both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 listings, it's unknown if Haehyun will premiere in those platforms or on the arcade version first.

She will be joining Johnny, Jam and the anticipated Dizzy in the console builds of -Revelator- set for May 26 in Japan with a tentative spring release in North America.

Sin Kiske Tutorial by Problem_Skater

While Guilty Gear Xrd's challenge mode may teach basic moves and some combos, it does very little to help new players get a feel for how or when certain normals and specials should be used. In hopes of aiding beginners with this very issue, Problem_Skater has released a 41-minute tutorial video detailing Sin Kiske.

The video breaks down all of the basic parts of Sin's gameplay, explaining his eat system and going into detail about each of his normals, specials and overdrives. It even explains the use of Sin's throw as an effective part of his arsenal.

Check out the video after the jump.

The Steam release of Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- has opened the door for players to start trying to change the way Xrd looks and sounds—much as they did in the past for Street Fighter IV—and the first costume mods for the game are now available.

While these edits are only minor changes, it will be interesting to see what content players develop over the upcoming weeks and months.

Video: Guilty Gear Xrd Sin Corner Cross-up Setup

Sin players have found different variations of a setup that allows the character to use jumping heavy slash to cross up opposing characters that have been thrown into the corner.

Not only does the setup offer Sin safe jump pressure and a big damage payoff if it hits, the resulting combo leaves him able to cancel into his Voltic Deign super for more pressure as the opposing character gets off the ground.

The setup does not work on every character, but still offers another tool for Sin players. Check it out after the jump.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- Coming to the US in Spring 2016

U.S. players will get their hands on the newest version of Guilty Gear early in 2016, according to the game's website. This will put the title in the same release window as its Japanese version.

For those who remember the console release of Xrd, the launch dates for Japan and the U.S. were only weeks apart, so it will be interesting to see if that again will be the idea. The early release also means the game will be available for Evolution 2016 if the organizers want to use -Revelator-.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- will be available for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
