"Chaos Dimension" exhibition video released by Magnetro

After months of anticipation, Magnetro has released his newest video showcasing oddities, combos and unbelievable scenarios found in Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Chaos Dimension is no short combo exhibition, showing off the engine of MvC2 for 46 minutes. Even with that length, the video sometimes includes action that is too fast for inexperienced MvC2 players to follow. As such, Magnetro has included plentiful explanations and notes on what he is showing during each specific song in the video on his website.

Readers can check out the new video after the jump.

Magnetro teases new video with "Chaos Dimension" trailer

Storied Marvel vs. Capcom 2 combo creator Magnetro is putting out a new video in November 2017.

Named "Chaos Dimension," the video will continue to exploit the MvC2 engine and create unbelievable scenarios like those found in Magnetro's other works.

Commenting on the trailer for his new work on YouTube, Magnetro said he had walked away from fighting games altogether after "Variable Atmosphere 2" but that talking to Japanese combo maker Izumojin and learning to use a PlayStation 2 emulator changed things.

"When I saw how easy [using the emulator] made the content-creation process, I decided to pursue the ideas I had back in 2010," he said.

For now, viewers will have to wonder what Magnetro has in store, as "Chaos Dimension" releases on Nov. 6, 2017. Readers can check out the trailer after the jump.

Super Arcade Celebrating 10th Anniversary of Evo Moment 37 with Throwback Tournament

At Evolution 2004, the now-famous Daigo Parry—Evo Moment #37—occurred, and to celebrate the 10 years since that event Super Arcade has announced a throwback tournament to take place November 21-23, 2014. The event, which will take place in the same hall as Evo 2004 at the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, will feature the same lineup of games that made up Evo that year: Capcom vs. SNK 2, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

Super Arcade owner Mike Watson says other games may be added, including an "Ultra Street Fighter IV tourney on the side so some of you 09'ers have something to play."

Marvel vs Capcom 2 Coming to iOS April 25th, New Screenshots

This is an announcement that kind of came out of left field: Marvel vs Capcom 2 will be released on the iPhone and iPod Touch come April 25th. While I doubt anyone will be busting out the ROM on their iPhone, it might be viable for a bit of touchscreen mashing fun. Check out the screenshots in the gallery below.

Seasons Beatings 5: Marvel vs Capcom 2 Singles Playlist

Team Spooky uploaded a ton of Marvel vs Capcom 2 matches to the official Seasons Beatings YouTube Channel. As much attention as Super Street Fighter 4 is receiving -- and rightfully so -- many of the Marvel vs Capcom 2 matches were just as entertaining to watch. I embedded one of my favorites from the stream which is J360 vs EG Justin Wong. Check it out after the break!

Marvel vs Capcom 2: Magnetro Combo Video

Magnetro, known for his mind-blowing tool-assisted combo videos, is back!  This video showcases some Magneto combos, some of which explore his flight mode. These were all done by hand!  Here's what this video showcases, in his own words:

"Random Magneto combos done by hand in training mode over the span of a few days. I never messed around with Magneto's flight mode while I was doing real combovideos. It turns out he has some interesting concepts that can be executed manually."

Check it out after the break!

News Roundup: Leaked MvC3 Rosters Fake Says Capcom PR, Marvel vs Capcom 2 Still Top Seller on XBLA

Here are a few bits of news:

Leaked Marvel vs Capcom 3 Character Rosters are Fake, says Capcom PR

Capcom PR's Wes Phillips has stated on his Twitter account that the supposed "leaked" Marvel vs Capcom 3 rosters are fake. Here's what he has to say in this Tweet:

These supposed "final" MvC3 character lists are inaccurate. No one has nailed it thus far. Stay tuned for the realness.

If Silver Surfer turns out to be in the game, as RUMORED here, it makes all of the previously shown lists that I have seen obviously wrong.  It's fun to speculate about them though.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 Still a Top Seller on Xbox Live Arcade

Destructoid has posted a listing of the top 10 highest grossing Xbox Live games of 2010 so far (the year isn't over), and Marvel vs Capcom 2 has taken the number 6 spot.  It has made 1.8 million dollars so far this year.

What makes it even more amazing is that the game released on July 29 of 2009. No details have been released for Playstation Network but it has been on the service's top downloads list for the most part since the game released as well.  The download release certainly has done good for Capcom. Hit here for the full list if you're curious to see what other titles made the list, but MvC2 was the only fighter.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 on sale for 50% off on Xbox Live Next Week

Marvel vs Capcom 2 will be on sale for 50% off next week on Xbox Live.  Starting Monday, June 14, the game will be discounted from 1,200 Microsoft Points to just 560 Microsoft Points.  This sale is for Xbox Live only. Last time Marvel vs Capcom 2 went on sale on Xbox Live it went on sale for Playstation Network at a later date, so perhaps this will be the case here as well.

If you don't already own the game and have reason to want to take the plunge, next week would be a great time to do so! If you are excited about next year's Marvel vs Capcom 3 and haven't played its predecessor, it might be an idea to pick this up and start getting used to the game's systems and playstyle.

The Dogface Show is Back! Telling the Story behind the Biggest Money Match in Fighting Game History

After a break that lasted way too long, the Dogface Show is back! This interview series is one that I am personally excited to see, as it tells the story behind the biggest money match in fighting game history.  It was for 50K in Marvel vs Capcom 2. Loren "Fanatiq" Riley tells the tale of how it began in this episode. Hollywood could not have written a story more fitting to Marvel vs Capcom 2's community than what this interview brings to light so far.

Super NorCal Regionals Intro Videos

When I talked to people online about the previous NorCal Regionals, more often then not they mention the NBA-style intro video to the stream. It was cheesy for sure, but it brought the hype like none other. So for Super NorCal Regionals I decided to step it up a bit and aimed for video intros to every game represented at the tournament. My friend (and NorCal boxer) ILLiterate helped out a lot with the the brainstorming and script writing process, but to tell you the truth the collaboration went a lot like this-

ILLiterate: I have a dumb a idea!

Me: And I know how to make that idea even dumber!

When you're editing video all your lonesome until 4AM every night with little to no oversight, you tend to surrender yourself to your creative processes regardless of where they seem to take you. That's about as best as I can explain the utter insanity we at iPlayWinner subjected the audience to with these intros. Overall they went over pretty well and John Choi didn't punch me in the face for all the Sandstorm, so I'll put this one down as a win.

So here they are, all the intro videos as seen at Super NorCal Regionals, minus one: Capcom vs SNK 2, of which I'd like Switcher to upload that one himself.

Super NorCal Regionals

LordofUltima, creator of the awesome 3-minute fundamental videos did all the heavy lifting on this beauty as he provided us with an HD take on the original NBA-style intro. He deserves all the credit for this one.
