USFII will feature both assets from HD Remix, created by UDON, and the CPS2 builds of SFII. Screenshots featured on the product page also show off Evil Ryu and the once SVC Chaos-exclusive Violent Ken. Along with traditional gameplay, USFII has 2v1 fights similar to that of the Street Fighter Alpha series' Dramatic Battle mode.
The release date for Ultra Street Fighter II is to be determined. Check out Capcom's page about the game here.
The second edition of this tournament event will bring back Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- from last year, and Street Fighter V and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will be the other headlining games for 2016. What's known so far is that it will take place on March 20, 2016 at Seoul, South Korea's Nexon Arena, known for hosting last year's PlayStation Arena as well as Tekken Crash. The preliminary qualifiers will be on March 6 at the Nexon Arena as well. If you live in Korea and are interested in competing, make sure to register here.

The latest North American qualifier for the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Global Tournament series went down in New York City this past weekend and if you missed the broadcast live the replays are now live on YouTube. This ended up being an amazing tournament with NYC players holding it down for three out of four of the games. Street Fighter x Tekken picked up a lot of steam this past weekend as well with some very entertaining matches from players all over the country. Be sure to check it out as it may sway your opinion of the game.
For those of you who missed the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Austin TX Qualifying Tournament this past weekend, I just uploaded the top 8 finals for all the games on YouTube! I even added in a bonus which is the Top 16 for Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. A ton of amazing matches went down in the top 16 for 3s and it would be a shame to see it go to waste so enjoy!
While day one was admittedly a little slow, day two was host to some of the most hype SSF4 matches I've seen in a while. The entire top 8 bracket was filled with killers, all hungry to land that qualifying spot for a chance to take it all in San Francisco, CA later this year at the finals.

David Sirlin, who was involved in the development of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, put up a blog post a few days ago about Snake Eyes, the EVO 2010 winner in that game's tournament. It's a great behind the scenes article.
I played Snake Eyes a long time ago on Xbox Live, and I didn't think a lot of him. Yeah he's good, but so are a lot of other players. Zangief has a lot of bad matchups, so I can counterpick and be fine, whatever. But people told me "no really, this guy is GOOD." AquaSnake claimed Snake Eyes would make top 8 "for sure, guaranteed" and that he would probably make top 2. This seemed crazy to me. Another player told me there was some casual play of Street Fighter HD Remix with about 20 known players, and Snake Eyes beat all of them in a row with no losses, then beat all of them again. (What??)
In case you missed it, here is the EVO 2010 Grand Finals for HD Remix between DVG (Ryu) and Snake Eyes (Zangief). It's an epic matchup with lots of clutch plays. Believe it or not, HD Remix is a great game and still has an active following.
When I talked to people online about the previous NorCal Regionals, more often then not they mention the NBA-style intro video to the stream. It was cheesy for sure, but it brought the hype like none other. So for Super NorCal Regionals I decided to step it up a bit and aimed for video intros to every game represented at the tournament. My friend (and NorCal boxer) ILLiterate helped out a lot with the the brainstorming and script writing process, but to tell you the truth the collaboration went a lot like this-
ILLiterate: I have a dumb a idea!
Me: And I know how to make that idea even dumber!
When you're editing video all your lonesome until 4AM every night with little to no oversight, you tend to surrender yourself to your creative processes regardless of where they seem to take you. That's about as best as I can explain the utter insanity we at iPlayWinner subjected the audience to with these intros. Overall they went over pretty well and John Choi didn't punch me in the face for all the Sandstorm, so I'll put this one down as a win.
So here they are, all the intro videos as seen at Super NorCal Regionals, minus one: Capcom vs SNK 2, of which I'd like Switcher to upload that one himself.
Super NorCal Regionals
LordofUltima, creator of the awesome 3-minute fundamental videos did all the heavy lifting on this beauty as he provided us with an HD take on the original NBA-style intro. He deserves all the credit for this one.
Alright guys, it's April Fools and I know we already blew it by posting one fake -- sorry about that -- but hopefully we can get everyone back in to everyones good graces by posting some real news here.
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on XBOX360 is on sale for 7 bucks or 560 MS Points on XBLA until April 7th. Although, I can't imagine anyone reading this site not to already own this game. Ether way, that's 50% off the normal price so go ahead and grab it if you haven't already!
The re-release of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix was perfectly timed to ride the rising wave of enthusiasm leading up to the release of Street Fighter 4. Capcom and Udon invested tremendous resources into the game, and regardless of what you personally think of the game, the fact that it was a sales success is no surprise. After all, it was perfect at rekindling the memories we had for the timeless classic with a new presentation and with amazing netcode for multiplayer action.
Well, it apparently didn't take long for the re-release of Marvel vs Capcom 2 to catch up. Not only did it catch up, but according to Capcom's Christian Svensson, it has passed HD Remix in sales. Mr. Svensson had this to say in a recent interview with gamesindustry.biz:
"We have three titles that have drastically over-performed our expectations, the most recent of which was Marvel vs Capcom 2, which we didn't expect to exceed Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HG Remix's numbers, but it has."
It is good to hear that all of Capcom's fighting genre foreys since Street Fighter 4 have been sales successes. That bodes well for the chances that Capcom will continue to support the genre with further remakes, sequels, and possibly even a new franchise someday.

I've had some requests to have a printable version of the flyer, so here it is! It's a high resolution PDF file that will come out real clean once you print it out.
Feeling a bit hungry after EVO, I took an hour train ride to Sunnyvale, CA this past Friday for a singles and teams Street Fighter 4 tournament. I was running a bit behind and missed my train so I barely made it in time but it all worked out.
The tournament was held at Country Inn and Suites in one of the ballrooms within the hotel. Street Fighter 4 was capped at 64 people for singles and 32 for teams, which may not sound like a lot, but considering they were running BlazBlue, HDR and some other games, the area was pretty packed out by the time I got there.
I ran through the winners bracket for most of the tournament until I ran into Scunsion, another Sagat player in NorCal who ended up taking the 3rd place spot in the tournament. He's probably the one player I know who may have the Sagat mirror match down better than I do. I went on to beat a couple others before finally losing to OG player Eric Choi who uses Rufus. I was hoping to get top 3 to make some money back from the train ride, but just another top 8 for me, tying for 7th. Oh well! Better luck next time.
It was Jack/Steve playing Ryu and Ricky O. playing Rufus in the finals. I assumed Jack would make it pretty far considering he is one of the most slept on players in NorCal and the fact he was feeling real confident through out the tournament. Of course it was no surprise to anyone to see Ricky O. in the finals as well.
After the singles, most people made their way home, but those of us who stuck around decided to enter the teams tournament which started at 1 AM or something. I was really tired but manned up since Thrust07 and Illiterate wanted to play and found myself a teammate-- Allan, one of the dudes who was running the tournament, who plays Chun Li. He fought hard but at the end of the day I ended up having to OCV about 5 teams to get third place. Thrust07 and Illiterate peaced me out, and they went on to play to Ryan the Filipino Champ and Hydro who took first.
Although the tournament ran really late, all in all it was fun seeing so many new people get into the scene. The ratio of new people to old schoolers was really high and reminded me of when I first started going to tournaments. Considering this event brought a lot of new people into the scene, hopefully they will work out the kinks with the tournament running so late, set up some SD TVs instead of LCDs to reduce lag and throw another one because I think this is a good event for the scene.

Looks like a patch for the numerous bugs in HD Remix is in the works which is great news for those of us who still play the game frequently. I've read a bunch of threads since the game came out documenting the bugs, but honestly I figured they would sweep a patch under the rug thinking that no one would care once Street Fighter IV came out. Thankfully I've been proven oh-so wrong by JimmyRey, the games producer, who although wont go into details about the patch, say it's for sure coming.
